Colts WR Josh Downs tallied a team-high 8 receptions for 82 yards and a TD on 9 targets in Sunday's win over the Steelers. Downs caught an 11-yard pass from Anthony Richardson before the QB left with a first-quarter hip injury. But then he caught a 4-yard TD on Joe Flacco's first pass attempt and drew a target on four of the QB's first seven attempts. Downs' 9 targets tied Pittman for the team lead in that category.
It was just Downs' second game back from a high ankle sprain. And his Week 3 return found him playing just 57% of snaps -- less than his typical 2023 role.
Richardson started well in his brief stint Sunday before leaving. We'll have to see whether that was signal of improved passing now that the WR corps is back to full strength.
We'll see about Richardson's status for Week 5. It would likely be better for Downs' fantasy outlook if Joe Flacco starts for a strongly positive matchup with the Jaguars.
Downs could be a low-WR3 or flex candidate for that spot -- especially with four teams on bye.
Burden failed to match massive expectations in 2024 -- and then joined a Bears squad that's loaded at pass catcher. Still, his overall profile suggests you shouldn't underestimate his dynasty potential.
