Bears QB Caleb Williams posted a fantasy breakout in Week 3, notching 363 yards, 2 TDs, and 2 INTs. Williams was boosted by a massive 52 pass attempts.
Here's a post-game tweet from NFL analyst and former QB Chase Daniel.
“I don’t care how talented your offensive playmakers are around you…Caleb Williams does not need to be throwing it 52 times in a freaking game.”
The Bears fell behind 21-9 in the fourth quarter, but it's a fair point. One huge issue: Chicago's inability to run the ball.
D'Andre Swift managed only 20 yards on 13 carries. Roschon Johnson posted 30 yards on 8 attempts. Their inability to run certainly hasn't helped open up the passing game.
Making matters worse, Keenan Allen also sat out Sunday’s game with a heel injury.
Despite the big numbers, Williams’ decision making and accuracy remained shaky.
That really showed on a late throw to the outside that resulted in an INT. Williams added a fumble when Colts rookie Laiatu Latu poked the ball out.
Williams' scores went to Rome Odunze and Cole Kmet -- both on end zone passes. The scores marked the first of Williams' pro career.
