49ers RB Christian McCaffrey was limited in Thursday's practice and is listed on the injury report with calf and Achilles. HC Kyle Shanahan confirmed that the Achilles issue is not new (the team just wasn't required to disclose it until today's first official injury report).
The Athletic's Matt Barrows: "McCaffrey lined up in his usual spot with the starting offense Thursday and did not seem hindered by the injury."
McCaffrey has been running and cutting since mid-August and is fully expected to play in Monday night's opener vs. the Jets. But we'll continue to keep an eye on his status leading up to that one.
It's certainly not ideal that he's already dealing with a pair of issues before the season even kicks off. No. 2 RB Jordan Mason should be rostered in most fantasy leagues as one of the best handcuffs in fantasy football.
