The Packers have placed WR Jayden Reed on the non-football injury list for the start of training camp. We've seen no report on the specific issue sidelining Reed.
What They're Saying
Bill Huber of SI.com: "A source said Reed is 'totally fine' and should be on the practice field in a few days."
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
If Huber's report proves true, then there should be no impact on his season. I'd still like to get more info on this situation, though.
There's gotta be some issue at play here. Teams don't deactivate players for fun. And they don't deactivate key players without some reason.
Are the Packers semi-punishing Reed for some minor injury he sustained in an activity the team didn't like him participating in?
Are they being overly cautious with an ailment that arose away from team headquarters?
We'll see. (Maybe.)
Other Winners & Losers
Any time Reed misses would obviously create opportunity for other Green Bay WRs. None played a role like his last year, though.
Reed spent 75.2% of his pass routes in the slot, according to Pro Football Focus. The next most frequent slot worker among WRs was Samori Toure at 42.7% -- but with just 38 total routes in there.
TE Luke Musgrave, WR Dontayvion Wicks, and WR Christian Watson were the only others to reach 100 total slot snaps.
Rankings Movement
We're not making any rankings changes for this news. But we'll certainly be watching for more info.
