Cardinals OC Drew Petzing believes TE Trey McBride is capable of taking his game to "another level" this season. McBride is coming off a breakout 2023 season, catching 81 balls for 825 yards and three TDs.
“I certainly feel like he has another level that he can take his game to, and we’re gonna push him to try to get him there," Petzing said of McBride.
McBride wound up finishing seventh among TEs in PPR points last year. And he did it despite:
McBride was a stat-piling machine after Ertz's season-ending quad injury, racking up 85 targets, 66 catches, 655 yards, and three TDs. The targets, catches, and yards all ranked top three among TEs. McBride ranked third at the position in PPR points over his final 10 games.
Entering his third NFL season at 24, McBride is certainly a candidate to take another leap forward in 2024. He faces increased target competition with the arrival of rookie WR Marvin Harrison Jr. But Harrison and a healthy QB Kyler Murray should also help this Cardinals offense score more points this year.
McBride is a good bet for top-5 fantasy production with the upside to lead TEs in scoring.
TreVeyon Henderson’s highlight reel screams fantasy stardom — but is he built to handle more than a complementary role?
