Colts QB Anthony Richardson will be a "full go" for training camp, GM Chris Ballard said. Richardson is working back from surgery on his throwing shoulder and experienced some soreness earlier this month. He sat out the final day of minicamp.
What They're Saying
"He was full go all the way up until the last day of OTAs, and we had two heavy throwing sessions the two days before, and so we backed off a little on the last day," Ballard said of Richardson.
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
We'll obviously be keeping a close eye on Richardson's shoulder when training camp opens next month. Soreness at this point of the rehab process isn't surprising, and we're not currently expecting the shoulder to be an issue by the time Week 1 rolls around.
Still, Richardson must prove capable of staying on the field after making it through just two full games as a rookie last year. Our Injury Predictor projects him for 2.4 games missed this season -- tied for fourth most among QBs.
A healthy Richardson's upside is obvious, though. He posted 10-40-1 and 10-56-1 rushing lines in those two full games last season, finishing fourth among QBs in fantasy points both weeks.
He's one of the biggest risk/reward picks at his position -- especially at his current QB5 best ball ADP.
Projected ADP Movement
Don't expect Richardson to get any cheaper in fantasy drafts, barring a significant setback with that shoulder. His price tag has already climbed from the early sixth round to the middle of Round 5 since the start of May.
