Commanders QB Jayden Daniels spoke glowingly about OC Kliff Kingsbury's offense. Of course, it'd be a much bigger surprise if a rookie QB had anything negative to say about his OC. But it's noteworthy after Kingsbury helped QB Kyler Murray to a strong rookie season in Arizona back in 2019.
What They're Saying
“It's been great," Daniels said from minicamp on Wednesday. "Just the offensive mind Kliff is, the type of coach he is and how he can scheme things up. He has a very QB-friendly offense just for everybody in that room to go out there and be able to learn it. Go out there and compete at a high level. It's not something that you go out there you are worrying about, man, what is this? What is that? Kliff does a great job of just going out there and trying to make it as easy as possible. Not only the QB, but the whole offense so we can go out there and play fast.”
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
Kingsbury's Cardinals tenure was generally underwhelming. But he helped Kyler Murray to a QB11 finish in points per game as a rookie in 2019. Murray then ranked fourth, fifth, and 10th in fantasy points per game in his final three seasons under Kingsbury.
Kingsbury has experience with a mobile QB and also deployed fast-paced offenses in Arizona. Three of his four Cardinals' offenses ranked top three in offensive pace (seconds per snap).
Kingsbury is a checkmark in Daniels' favor. With elite deep-ball and rushing ability, Daniels is a screaming buy at his current QB11 ADP.
