Packers WRs Christian Watson (ankle) and Romeo Doubs (personal) are listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game vs. the Rams. So Green Bay is suddenly down two of its top three WRs in terms of playing time so far this season. It’s a huge opportunity for WR Dontayvion Wicks, while WR Jayden Reed and TE Tucker Kraft should also pick up extra volume. We’re expecting WRs Bo Melton and Malik Heath to split Doubs’ snaps.
Romeo Doubs Out Thursday With Personal Matter
Packers WR Romeo Doubs did not practice on Thursday due to a personal matter, HC Matt LaFleur said. LaFleur added that they're "taking it day by day" as to whether Doubs will play vs. the Rams this weekend. Green Bay, of course, is already likely to be without WR Christian Watson for that one. Doubs' absence would leave some combination of Bo Melton and Malik Heath as the No. 3 WR behind Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks.
Melton goes in Round 7
The Seahawks added Rutgers WR Bo Melton in the 7th round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Melton boosted his draft stock at the Combine, blazing a 4.34-second 40 time with a 38-inch vertical at 5’11 and 189 pounds. He earned a 92nd percentile Relative Athletic Score. That speed and explosion shows up on tape, but Melton’s play strength is a concern. He also failed to reach 640 receiving yards in any of his 5 college seasons. Melton looks like a long shot to emerge as a fantasy asset.
