Lions waive Denzel Mims
The Lions have waived WR Denzel Mims. He arrived via trade about one month ago, but Detroit will let him go with an injury designation (calf, ankle).
Lions trade for Denzel Mims
The Lions acquired WR Denzel Mims and a 7th-round pick from the Jets in exchange for a conditional 6th-rounder. That return tells you all you need to know about how Mims' career has gone so far. The 2020 2nd-round pick totaled just 42 catches, 676 yards, and 0 TDs across three seasons in New York. He turns just 26 in October and boasts a 6'3, 207-pound frame with sub-4.4 speed. But consider Mims a long shot for 2023 fantasy value. He at least finds opportunity for a Lions team looking for an outside-the-numbers, vertical threat.
Davis cleared ahead of Week 16 Thursday Night Football
Jets WR Corey Davis (concussion) practiced fully again on Wednesday and does not carry an injury designation ahead of Week 16 vs. the Jaguars. Teammates Denzel Mims (concussion) and Jeff Smith (knee) did not practice and have ultimately been ruled out. While the Jaguars rank as the 3rd-easiest matchup in fantasy points allowed to WRs, the inconsistencies of QB Zach Wilson make Davis a risky play. Fantasy managers should sit Davis outside of the deepest of leagues.
Davis trending up, other Jets WRs in question ahead of Week 16
Thursday Night Football is just around the corner, and the Jets WR corps has a mixed bag of injuries to sort through. Corey Davis (concussion) upgraded to a full participant in practice on Tuesday after being limited on Monday. However, Denzel Mims (concussion) and Jeff Smith (knee) did not practice two days in a row to open the week. Today's injury report will shed light on who QB Zach Wilson will have to throw to in tomorrow's game vs. the Jaguars. Stay tuned.
Mims out with concussion
Jets WR Denzel Mims was knocked out of Sunday's game vs. the Lions with a 1st-half concussion. WR Corey Davis is inactive with his own concussion, leaving the Jets with WRs Garrett Wilson, Elijah Moore, Braxton Berrios and Jeff Smith.
Will Zack Moss outscore Devin Singletary? Who's the RB to own in Miami? And is there any Jet worth drafting as long as Adam Gase is around? Let's kick off our divisional preview series ...
