Cincinnati Bengals Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase (hip) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He confirmed afterward that he's planning to play vs. the Chiefs this weekend. "We're going to see how I feel later in the week, but I'm expecting to take some reps," Chase said. We'll continue to keep a close eye on his status, but Chase can be penciled into Week 13 fantasy lineups.

We'll watch the status of Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase throughout this week, but it sure sounds like he's ready to get back to a full-time role. "I don't have no pain," he told reporters Wednesday, according to ESPN's Ben Baby. We'll take this as good news rather than a subtle linguistic clue that Chase does have some pain. Expect to start Chase in your fantasy football lineups against the Chiefs' rookie perimeter CBs this weekend.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase (hip) is expected to return for Sunday's game vs. the Chiefs. Chase got in 3 limited practices last week and seemed at least close to playing against the Titans. We'll keep an eye on his status this week, but he can be penciled into Week 13 fantasy lineups.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow threw for 270 yards and 1 TD on 59.5% completions in Sunday's win at Tennessee. WR Tee Higgins snagged that lone TD, en route to easily leading the team with 7 catches for 114 yards. TE Hayden Hurst tied Higgins for the target lead (9) and caught 6 for 57 yards. WR Tyler Boyd added just 2 catches for 16 yards. WR Ja'Marr Chase seems to be trending toward a Week 13 return against Kansas City. That would likely push Boyd out of fantasy-starter consideration.

Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase (hip) is officially inactive for today’s game vs. the Titans. He got in 3 limited practices this week and seems to be trending toward a Week 13 return.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase (hip) is not expected to play vs. the Titans today. He's seemingly making good progress with his rehab and should tentatively be expected back for Week 13. His absence today boosts the target projections for WRs Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd.

The Score's Jordan Schultz reports that Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase (hip) will not play vs. the Titans on Sunday. "I’m told the Bengals’ All-Pro WR had a good week of practice, but isn’t quite ready to return from a hairline hip fracture and torn labrum," Schultz tweets. This conflicts with NFL Network's take that Chase was trending toward returning for this one -- but Schultz's reports tend to be on point. We should get further updates on Chase's status on Sunday morning and will get Cincinnati's inactives at 11:30 am ET.

Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase (hip) is a game-time decision but is "trending in the right direction" to play vs. the Titans on Sunday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Rapoport adds that Chase was originally expected to miss more time but that his doctor's appointment last week was "exceptionally positive." Insider Mike Garafolo adds that Chase will still be "battling through" the hip issue. He was limited in practice all week -- and it's certainly possible that his snaps and/or effectiveness are limited tomorrow.

Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase (hip) got in 3 limited practices this week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Titans. HC Zac Taylor said the final decision on whether Chase returns for this one will come on Sunday. We’ll look for reports on Chase’s status that morning and will get Cincinnati’s inactives around 11:30 am ET.

Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase (hip) put in his 2nd straight limited practice on Thursday. It's still unclear if he'll be ready to play vs. the Titans this weekend. Check back tomorrow for another update on Chase.

Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase (hip) returned to a limited practice on Wednesday. QB Joe Burrow expects Chase to play vs. the Titans this weekend, but HC Zac Taylor has remained non-committal. We'll get another update on Chase tomorrow.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow said Wednesday that he expects WR Ja'Marr Chase (hip) to return for this weekend's game vs. the Titans. That, of course, is far from a guarantee that Chase will be back. But Week 12 has reportedly been the target for his return for a while now. We'll keep a close eye on his status over the next few days.

Bengals HC Zac Taylor labeled WR Ja'Marr Chase (hip) "day to day" on Monday. Chase is expected to return to practice this week, but Taylor was non-committal on his availability for Sunday's game vs. the Titans. We'll keep a close eye on him throughout the week.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow finished Sunday as the #2 fantasy QB for the week, trailing only Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes. Burrow racked up 355 yards and 4 TDs in the win over the Steelers. It's his 1st 4-TD game of the season but 3rd game with 3+ among his past 5 outings. Burrow also threw 2 INTs, meaning 6 of his 8 INTs for the season have come against Pittsburgh. WR Tee Higgins dominated the market shares for targets, catches and yards, but RB Samaje Perine claimed 3 of the 4 receiving TDs. The other went to WR Trenton Irwin. Burrow gets a pass-funnel matchup at Tennessee in Week 12.

Bengals WR Tee Higgins set season highs in targets (13), receptions (9) and receiving yards (148) in Sunday's win over the Steelers. He accounted for 33.3% of QB Joe Burrow's pass attempts, 37.5% of the completions and 41.7% of the receiving yardage. RB Samaje Perine was the only other Bengal to catch more than 3 passes. WR Tyler Boyd finished 2nd on the team with 7 targets but caught only 2 for 42 yards. TE Hayden Hurst caught 2 of 3 targets for 28 yards. Week 12 presents a Titans matchup that should further motivate the Bengals to go pass-heavy -- especially if RB Joe Mixon (concussion) is out. The team reportedly hopes to have WR Ja'Marr Chase (hip) back for that game. His return would hurt the fantasy outlook for Boyd more than Higgins.

Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase (hip) is "improving" and got "very good news" on his rehab at a recent doctor appointment, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Chase is off crutches, per Rapoport, and "has a chance" to practice and play this coming week. We'll keep a close eye on Chase's progress when Cincinnati gets back to work on Wednesday.

Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase (hip) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Steelers. The team is reportedly “hopeful” that Chase will be back for Week 12, but he was still on crutches as of Monday. We’ll track his status this coming week.

As expected, Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase (hip) did not practice on Wednesday. He was still on crutches as of Monday, and the latest report has the Bengals hoping for a Week 12 return.

The Bengals are "hopeful" that WR Ja'Marr Chase (hip) will be back for Week 12, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. That seems like the best-case scenario considering Chase was still on crutches as of Monday. We'll continue to track his progress, but Chase is a heavy favorite to miss this weekend's game vs. the Steelers.

The Bears have placed RB Khalil Herbert on IR for the hip injury that knocked him out of Sunday's loss to the Lions. With rookie Tristan Ebner now the only other healthy RB on the roster, David Montgomery should be set up for plenty of work over at least the next 4 weeks, starting with a terrific matchup against the Falcons this week. We'll see about the expected return timeline for Herbert.
