Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Colts LB Shaquille Leonard practiced in full Wednesday and was listed only for the back issue, which was the June surgery whose recovery kept him out to open the season. It's good news that the team isn't listing his broken nose that required more recent surgery. Leonard's inactivity in the wake of that kept HC Frank Reich from playing him in last week's loss at Tennessee, despite full practices leading up to the weekend. Leonard seems to be on track to return for this Sunday's game against Washington. That would likely take playing time away from IDP revelation Zaire Franklin. We'll watch for word on whether Leonard will immediately assume a full-time role.
Commanders WR Jahan Dotson (hamstring) remained sidelined on Wednesday. It doesn't look like he'll make it back for Sunday's game vs. the Colts.
Bucs WR Julio Jones (knee) is listed as questionable and will be a game-time decision for Thursday night's tilt with the Ravens, HC Todd Bowles said. Jones got in limited practices on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tampa could certainly use him with WR Russell Gage out, but Jones would be tough to trust in season-long lineups in his first action since Week 4.
Steelers QB Kenny Pickett threw for just 257 yards, 1 TD and 3 INTs in Sunday night's loss to the Dolphins. The 72.7% completion rate was nice, but the mere 5.8 yards per pass attempt reveals that the rookie passer couldn't get anything going deep. WR Chase Claypool said after the game that he believes the offense needs "more go balls" to take advantage of the WR talent. We can't argue with that, though it remains to be seen whether Pickett can support his wideouts in that area. Claypool followed a strong Week 6 with a pedestrian 5-41 receiving line on 8 targets. WR Diontae Johnson caught 5 of his team-high 10 targets for 42 yards. WR George Pickens caught all 6 of his looks for 61 yards, including an athletic grab in the end zone for the team's only TD. Pittsburgh gets a tough matchup at Philadelphia in Week 8.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley ran for 110 yards on 24 carries in Sunday's win over the Jaguars, adding 4 catches for 25 yards on 4 targets. It was the 3rd 100-yard game for Barkley, who gets a soft Seattle defense on the road in Week 8.
Commanders WR Jahan Datson (hamstring) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Packers. The rookie re-injured his hamstring in Thursday’s practice and didn’t practice on Friday. With WR Dyami Brown (groin) also out, Cam Sims will operate as Washington’s #3 WR behind Terry McLaurin and Curtis Samuel.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport calls WR Jahan Dotson (hamstring) a "long shot" to play vs. the Packers today. That's not a surprise after Dotson re-injured that hamstring in Thursday's practice. With WR Dyami Brown (groin) out, Cam Sims will operate as Washington's #3 WR behind Terry McLaurin and Curtis Samuel.
The Colts have ruled LB Shaquille Leonard (nose) and EDGE Kwity Paye (ankle) out for Sunday's game against the Titans. Leonard finished the week with 2 full practices, making him seem close to a return. So he likely needs more time to heal from the surgery for his broken nose. Paye has yet to practice since suffering his high-ankle sprain in Week 5.
Commanders WR Jahan Datson (hamstring) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Packers. He appeared to re-injure that hamstring on Thursday and then didn’t practice on Friday. So, even if Dotson suits up on Sunday, he’d be a very risky fantasy play. WR Dyami Brown (groin) has been ruled out.
Steelers QB Kenny Pickett (concussion) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’ll start on Sunday night vs. Miami’s 20th-ranked QB defense. The rookie is only an option in 2-QB and Superflex leagues.
Bucs WR Julio Jones (knee) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Panthers. Jones did get back on the practice field this week, so perhaps he'll be able to play in Week 8. Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Russell Gage will continue to serve as Tampa's top 3 WRs this weekend.
Steelers QB Kenny Pickett (concussion) and TE Pat Freiermuth (concussion) put in full practices again on Thursday. Both guys remain on track to play vs. the Dolphins on Sunday night.
Bucs WR Julio Jones (knee) put in a limited practice on Thursday. We'll see if he suits up vs. the Panthers on Sunday for the 1st time since Week 4, but Jones shouldn't be in your fantasy plans.
Commanders WR Jahan Dotson (hamstring) was officially limited again in Thursday's practice. But beat writers saw him pull up lame during a route early on. He reportedly spent the rest of practice on the stationary bike. We'll see if Dotson practices on Friday and how he's listed on the final injury report, but fantasy owners shouldn't plan on using him in Week 7 lineups.
Steelers QB Kenny Pickett (concussion) got in a full practice on Wednesday. HC Mike Tomlin said the rookie will start vs. the Dolphins on Sunday night if he clears concussion protocol -- and he seems on track. We'll get another update on Pickett tomorrow.
Commanders WR Jahan Datson (hamstring) returned to a limited practice on Wednesday. It gives the rookie a shot to make it back for this weekend's game vs. the Packers. We'll see how he progresses over the next few days.
Bucs WR Julio Jones (knee) remained sidelined on Wednesday. He hasn't played since Week 4 and is only worth stashing in deep fantasy leagues.
Broncos TE Albert Okwuegbunam is a healthy scratch for tonight's game vs. the Chargers. He played just 16 snaps over the past 2 weeks and lost his spot on the active roster tonight to rookie TE Greg Dulcich. Okwuegbunam is not worth stashing in redraft fantasy leagues.
Eagles QB Jalen Hurts attempted just 25 passes in Sunday night's win over the Cowboys, completing 15 (60%) for 155 yards and a pair of TDs. He found A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith for the scores. Each wideout caught 5 balls for the game, with Brown tallying 67 yards and Smith 44. TE Dallas Goedert was the only other Eagle to see multiple targets, catching just 2 of his 5 for 22 yards.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley ran for 83 yards and a TD on 22 carries in Sunday's win over the Ravens. He added 3 catches for 12 yards on 3 targets. Barkley could have scored a 2nd TD late in the 4th quarter but slid short of the goal line to allow his team to run out the clock with a 4-point lead.
