Philadelphia Eagles Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts threw for 303 yards, 1 TD, and an INT in Sunday's win over the Rams. He added 72 yards and a goal-line TD for a strong fantasy outing. It marked Hurts' second straight game with 300+ passing yards and his third game among the past four with at least one rushing score. Hurts visits the Jets in Week 6 before meetings with the Dolphins, Commanders (rematch), and Cowboys.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Dolphins. RB Matt Breida should lead the backfield again but is just a RB3 or flex play in a struggling New York offense.

Steelers QB Kenny Pickett "won’t have his full mobility" as he plays through a bone bruise to his knee vs. the Ravens today, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. If you needed a reason to avoid Pickett in Week 5 fantasy lineups, there it is.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is not expected to play vs. the Dolphins today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Barkley remained limited in practice all week and didn't sound optimistic about his status when speaking to the media. Rapoport adds that Barkley is "closer" to a return. We'll see if he can make it back for Week 6. His absence today again leaves New York's backfield to Matt Breida and Gary Brightwell. Breida has tallied 18 carries and eight targets to Brightwell's eight carries and five targets over the last two weeks. See where both guys land in the updated Week 5 RB Rankings.

The Colts have ruled LB Shaquille Leonard (groin) and Edge Kwity Paye (concussion) out for Sunday's game against the Titans. Leonard has fallen way down our rest-of-season IDP rankings and is droppable in many leagues. Paye's absence comes as no surprise after concussion symptoms arose after Week 4. E.J. Speed has passed Leonard in regular playing time and becomes a more attractive option with Leonard out. Paye's absence leaves snaps for Samson Ebukam and Dayo Odeyingbo.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Dolphins. He was limited in practice all week. HC Brian Daboll said Friday that Barkley could be a game-time decision. He won't be at 100% if he plays. New York will also be without offensive linemen Andrew Thomas, Shane Lemieux, and John Michael Schmitz this weekend.

Steelers QB Kenny Pickett (knee) is not listed on the final Week 5 injury report. He put in full practices on Thursday and Friday, so it’s possible that the knee isn’t an issue this weekend. Still, Pickett is a weak fantasy play vs. the Ravens.

Steelers QB Kenny Pickett (knee) was upgraded to full participation in Thursday's practice. It's confirmation that he'll be able to play vs. the Ravens this weekend. Pickett sits at the very bottom of our Week 5 QB Rankings.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) remained limited in Thursday's practice. He told reporters afterward that his ankle "is in a better spot than it was last Thursday" but stopped short of saying that he'll play vs. the Dolphins this weekend. "Each day it gets better," Barkley said. "It's a tough injury. Just taking it one day at a time. Trying to improve each day. ... Definitely encouraged but don't want to make guarantees. Just continue trusting my body and trusting the training staff." We'll see what Barkley does in Friday's practice and how he's listed on the final injury report. But fantasy owners should make sure they have a backup plan in place for Week 5. Barkley seems no better than 50/50 to play against Miami.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He was limited in all three practices last week before missing the Seahawks game, so this doesn't tell us much about his availability for Sunday's game vs. the Dolphins. Barkley seemingly has a shot to play in that one, but we'll keep you updated on his progress over the next few days.

Steelers QB Kenny Pickett (knee) told reporters Wednesday that he'll be "ready to go" for Sunday's game vs. the Ravens. We'll track his status throughout the rest of the week after he suffered a reported bone bruise in last week's loss to the Texans. Pickett will be a bottom-barrel QB2 if he suits up this weekend.

Eagles TE Dallas Goedert remains a big part of the passing game, HC Nick Sirianni said Monday. Goedert has caught 13 passes for just 88 yards and 0 TDs through four weeks. He's sitting 30th among TEs in PPR points. "He’ll get going," Sirianni said. "I’m certain of that. We’ve got to do our jobs as coaches to get him going. But he is still a very big factor in the way our offense is playing right now.” We've seen WR A.J. Brown tally two straight huge games after expressing some displeasure over his role back in Week 2. Goedert hasn't publicly complained, but it's certainly possible that he gets some "squeaky-wheel" treatment. He's still run a route on 92% of Eagles pass plays, so he's not far off from better production.

Steelers HC Mike Tomlin said QB Kenny Pickett has been diagnosed with a bone bruise on his knee. He'll participate to some extent in Wednesday's practice, and the team will evaluate him from there. "The more comfortable and functional he is, the more work he'll get," Tomlin said. It seems like Pickett has a real chance to play vs. the Ravens this weekend. We'll keep you updated on his progress.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is officially inactive for tonight's game vs. the Seahawks. He put in three limited practices this week and has a shot to return for Week 5. Matt Breida figures to serve as New York's lead back tonight after playing 82% of the offensive snaps last week. RBs Gary Brightwell and Eric Gray are also active.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Steelers QB Kenny Pickett "is not expected to miss much if any time" with the knee injury that knocked him out of Sunday's game. Pickett could "try to push" to play this Sunday against Baltimore. A Week 6 bye after that could factor into the decision, though. We'll watch reports this week to see if Pickett or Mitchell Trubisky will start the divisional game.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is not expected to play vs. the Seahawks tonight. But Barkley is "steadily getting better" and has a "realistic chance" to return for Week 5, Rapoport adds. We'll keep tabs on Barkley's progress throughout this week, leading up to Sunday's game vs. the Dolphins.

Steelers QB Kenny Pickett "will miss some time" with his knee injury, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. How much time will depend on the results of Monday's MRI. The Steelers don't believe Pickett's ACL is damaged, but there's concern about the MCL and meniscus, Rapoport says. "The belief is that this is not a season-ending situation." We should have a more concrete timeline for Pickett's return by the end of Monday. QB Mitchell Trubisky will step in as Pittsburgh's starter for however long Pickett is out. Trubisky completed 65.0% of his passes at 7.0 yards per attempt across four starts and seven total appearances for the Steelers last year.

DeVante Parker played 16 more snaps and ran 10 more pass routes than any other Patriots WR in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys. It marked the third straight week Parker has led the group in routes. He has run a route on 91% of New England's dropbacks in that span, after missing Week 1. TE Hunter Henry checks in next at 82.9%. WR Kendrick Bourne trails at 60.4%, with WR JuJu Smith-Schuster at 54.1%. That has amounted to only 7 total targets and 4 receptions over the past two weeks. But it leaves room for upside in upcoming matchups. Week 5 brings the Saints, who have played well on defense but been a positive scoring matchup for WRs. Our adjusted fantasy points allowed say the Raiders, Bills, and Dolphins the following three weeks have been negative. We'll see as those matchups draw closer.

Steelers QB Kenny Pickett is scheduled for an MRI on his left knee on Monday, according to Pro Football Talk. The team is “hopeful” he’s just dealing with a minor MCL sprain. We should get an update on Pickett's status within the next 24 hours. QB Mitchell Trubisky finished today’s game for Pittsburgh, completing 3 of 5 passes for 18 yards.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts racked up 319 yards and 2 TDs passing in Sunday's OT win over the Commanders. He found WR A.J. Brown for both scores, from 28 and 59 yards out. Brown and DeVonta Smith combined to draw targets on 59.5% of Hurts' pass attempts. They also accounted for 79.3% of the team's receiving yards. TE Dallas Goedert managed just 2 receptions for 25 yards among 4 targets. RB D'Andre Swift ranked third on the team with 4 receptions on 4 targets.
