Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Cardinals WR Marquise Brown (groin) is active for tonight's game against the Buccaneers. We'd still bet on some elevated risk after the groin issue limited his Thursday and Friday practices. The bigger limitation might be 3rd-string QB Trace McSorley, who has completed just 46.2% of his 39 career passes in the NFL. Try to not use Brown in fantasy football lineups if you can help it. He sits relatively low in our Week 16 WR rankings.
Chiefs TE Travis Kelce caught 6 of 8 targets for 113 yards in Saturday's win over the Seahawks, leading the team in all 3 categories on a limited passing day. Kelce accounted for 50.4% of Kansas City's total passing yards. QB Patrick Mahomes' 2 TD throws went to RB Jerick McKinnon and WR Kadarius Toney.
Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes went just 16-of-28 passing for 224 yards and 2 TDs in Saturday's win over the Seahawks. He added a rushing score to boost the fantasy line. Next comes a rematch with the Broncos, who allowed Mahomes 352 yards and 3 TDs passing in their Week 14 meeting.
Cardinals WR Marquise Brown (groin) logged back-to-back days of limited practice and is officially questionable for Week 16 vs. the Buccaneers. The affectionately nicknamed 'Hollywood' was a fantasy stud to open the season before succumbing to injury. In the time since he's been less-than-stellar. To add insult to injury, third-string QB Trace McSorley will be under center as the Cardinals QB in Week 16. The downgrade at QB makes Brown a risky WR4 option for fantasy lineups this week.
Chiefs HC Andy Reid suggested Thursday that WR Mecole Hardman (abdomen) won't be ready to play vs. the Seahawks this weekend. "I'm not sure he's where he need to be," Reid said. We'll see if Hardman can make it back for Week 17. JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Justin Watson have been running as Kansas City's top 3 WRs lately.
Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman (abdomen) has a “good chance” of being available for Week 16 vs. the Seahawks according to Chiefs HC Andy Reid. Hardman has not played since being placed on IR following Week 9 vs. the Titans. The game against the Seahawks is on Saturday, so today’s news will provide some important clarity on this front.
Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes completed 36 of his 41 passes for 336 yards and 2 TDs in Sunday's win over the Texans. He added a 5-yard TD among 33 yards on 5 carries. It was just the latest big game for Mahomes but came against a Houston defense that has defied QB scoring this season. You already knew you'd be starting Mahomes the rest of the way.
Chiefs TE Travis Kelce and WR JuJu Smith-Schuster each drew 10 targets and caught every one in Sunday's win over the Texans. Kelce went for 105 yards, while Smith-Schuster compiled 88 yards. Neither reached the end zone, as QB Patrick Mahomes' 2 TD throws went to WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling and RB Jerick McKinnon. Kansas City gets home dates with the Seahawks and Broncos the next 2 weeks.
Cardinals WR Marquise Brown (illness) is active for today’s game vs. the Broncos. He didn’t practice on Thursday but returned to a limited workout on Friday and should be ready for his usual role today.
Chiefs DT Chris Jones (illness) is active for today's game against the Texans. Use him as planned in your IDP lineups.
Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman (abdomen) was not activated and won't play vs. the Texans today. Hardman got back on the practice field this week and is on track to return for this coming Saturday's game vs. the Seahawks, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms that Cardinals WR Marquise Brown (illness) is expected to play vs. the Broncos today. We're expecting him to be ready for his usual role, so Brown is fine to get into Week 15 fantasy lineups.
The Score's Jordan Schultz reports that Cardinals WR Marquise Brown (illness) is "good to go" for Sunday's game vs. the Broncos. Brown didn’t practice on Thursday with that illness but returned to a limited workout on Friday. He should be ready for his usual role tomorrow.
Chiefs DT Chris Jones is questionable for Sunday's game against the Texans after missing Friday's practice with an illness. It was the 1st time this week that he showed up on the injury report. We'll check Jones' status Sunday morning.
Cardinals WR Marquise Brown (illness) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Broncos. He didn’t practice on Thursday but returned to a limited workout on Friday. Brown should be able to play this weekend, but double check Arizona’s inactives around 2:30 pm ET on Sunday.
Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman (abdomen) was designated to return from IR and practiced this week. But HC Andy Reid said Friday that he’s “leaning away” from playing Hardman vs. the Texans this weekend. There’s certainly no reason for Kansas City to push Hardman back for this one.
Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (right hand) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report for Sunday’s game vs. the Texans. Nothing to see here.
Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is on the Week 15 injury report with a right hand. He was a full-go in practice, and ESPN's Adam Teicher confirms that Mahomes is fully expected to play vs. the Texans this weekend. We'll keep an eye on the situation.
Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman (abdomen) has been designated to return from IR. He'll be back at practice today, and we'll see if he's able to play vs. the Texans on Sunday. Hardman racked up 17 catches on 22 targets for 226 yards and 3 TDs in his last 4 games before landing on IR.
Commanders QB Carson Wentz (finger) has been activated from IR. We'll see about Washington's plan at QB, but we expect QB Taylor Heinicke to at least start this weekend's game vs. the Giants. He's been up and down over the past 7 games but has led the Commanders to 5 wins. Wentz went 2-4 over the first 6 games of the season. The biggest fantasy impact here is with WR Terry McLaurin, who's been much more productive with Heinicke.
Update: NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that Wentz is returning as Heinicke's backup.
