Arizona Cardinals Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

2:37pm UTC 11/14/21

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (ankle) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Panthers. He returned to a limited practice on Friday, so we’re tentatively expecting him back for Week 11’s game in Seattle. It’s worth noting, though, that the Cardinals have a Week 12 bye, so they could opt to hold Murray out until Week 13. QB Colt McCoy gets another start today after throwing for 249 yards and a score in last week’s win over the 49ers.

The Cardinals are "pessimistic" that QB Kyler Murray (ankle) will be able to play vs. the Panthers on Sunday, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "Murray wants to take it up to game-time and AZ will give him a chance. But it’s likely that Colt McCoy starts," Rapoport adds. We'll look for further updates on the situation Sunday morning, but fantasy owners can't be counting on Murray at this point.

Cardinals S Budda Baker (concussion, knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers. Baker returned to practice Friday after missing the previous 2 days. HC Kliff Kingsbury said the team expects Baker to play. We'll confirm his status Sunday afternoon.

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (ankle) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Panthers. He got in a limited practice on Friday, his first since spraining that ankle back in Week 8. HC Kliff Kingsbury said Friday that Murray will be a game-time decision. That could put fantasy owners in a tough spot because Cardinals-Panthers doesn't kick off until 4:05 pm ET on Sunday. We'll look for an update on Murray's status that morning.

Dolphins QB Jacoby Brissett injured his right knee in the 3rd quarter of Thursday night's game vs. the Ravens. That's forced QB Tua Tagovailoa onto the field, despite his left finger injury. We'll update Brissett's status when we know more.

Update: Brissett has been cleared to return, according to the NFL Network broadcast crew, but Tagovailoa is in the game.

Dolphins QB Jacoby Brissett will start tonight's game vs. the Ravens, NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe reports. QB Tua Tagovailoa will be active as the backup, as he continues to deal with that fracture to the middle finger of his throwing hand. Wolfe adds that the Dolphins "hope" Tagovailoa will be back for next week's game vs. the Jets. Brissett is a lower-end QB2 in Week 10 fantasy lineups.

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (ankle) missed practice again on Thursday. He said Wednesday that his sprained ankle is improving, but he still looks extremely iffy for this weekend's game vs. Carolina. Check back tomorrow for another update on Murray's status.

Cardinals WR A.J. Green has been activated from the COVID list. He'll return for Sunday's game vs. the Panthers. But his fantasy value hinges on the status of teammates Kyler Murray, DeAndre Hopkins and Rondale Moore.

Cardinals S Budda Baker missed Wednesday practice with a concussion and a knee injury. We'll see how he does this week, leading up to Sunday's meeting with the Panthers.

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray told reporters Wednesday that he's making good progress in his recovery from his left ankle injury. "I think it's day by day," Murray said. "I think we've got a great plan. I feel way better than I did when I talked to you last time, so, I think that's a plus and I'm excited." Murray didn't practice on Wednesday, though, and remains iffy for this weekend's game vs. the Panthers.

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (ankle) remained sidelined for Wednesday's practice. Not a good start for his chances of returning for this weekend's game vs. the Panthers. QB Colt McCoy played well in place of Murray last week, which might make Arizona more comfortable holding Murray out another week. We'll get another update on his status tomorrow.

Cardinals HC Kliff Kingsbury was non-committal on QB Kyler Murray's (ankle) Week 10 status on Monday. "I like the way he progressed through the week," Kingsbury said. "He definitely improved. We'll have to see how he looks when we get back out there on Wednesday. Hopefully he can operate and function and do his deal. I really don't have a feel for it right now." We'll get Arizona's first practice report of the week on Wednesday afternoon.

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (ankle) has "a chance" to return for this weekend's game vs. the Panthers, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "It's not a guarantee," Rapoport adds. We'll keep an eye on Murray's progress this week. QB Colt McCoy played pretty well in relief yesterday, completing 22 of 26 passes for 249 yards, 1 TD and 0 INTs.

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (ankle) is inactive for today’s game vs. the 49ers. Although he didn’t practice all week, Murray was reportedly a game-time decision today. So he should have a good chance of returning for Week 10. QB Colt McCoy gets the start today and is a significant downgrade for the offense.

Fox Sports' Jay Glazer confirms that Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (ankle) is not expected to play vs. the 49ers this afternoon unless he "does something miraculous" in pregame warmups. We'll get Arizona's inactives around 3 pm ET, but expect QB Colt McCoy to get the start.

It'll be an "uphill battle" for Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (ankle) to play against the 49ers today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Murray "will try to go, but there isn’t a ton of optimism for it," Rapoport adds. ESPN's Adam Schefter's report is only a little more optimistic. Murray "is expected to test his injury in pre-game warmups before Arizona makes a final decision on his status," Schefter tweeted. "Cardinals want to be careful." At this point, we're not expecting Murray to play vs. San Francisco. We won't find out for sure until 3 pm ET, but Murray should be on fantasy benches unless you have a viable late-game alternative. QB Colt McCoy will start for Arizona if Murray is out.

Cardinals WR A.J. Green remains on the COVID list as of Friday night and is not expected to be cleared for Sunday's game vs. the 49ers. WR DeAndre Hopkins is a game-time decision with his hamstring injury, leaving Christian Kirk, Rondale Moore, Antoine Wesley and Andy Isabella as Arizona's healthy WRs.

Cardinals HC Kliff Kingsbury labeled QB Kyler Murray (ankle) a game-time decision for Sunday's tilt with the 49ers. Murray didn't practice all week. Kingsbury said Friday that Murray will suit up if he can play at a "high level in the pocket," per ESPN's Josh Weinfuss. Cardinals-49ers doesn't kick off until 4:25 pm ET, putting fantasy owners in a tricky spot if we don't get a Sunday morning update. Murray, of course, will be a riskier play than usual if he ends up active. QB Colt McCoy is Arizona's backup.

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (ankle) missed practice again on Thursday. HC Kliff Kingsbury said Murray could play vs. the 49ers this weekend without practicing, but he's not a lock to be ready for that one. Check back tomorrow for another update.

The Cardinals placed WR A.J. Green on the COVID list. If he's vaccinated, he'll have a chance to get cleared in time for Sunday's game vs. the 49ers. But, for now, fantasy owners shouldn't plan on having him in Week 9 lineups. If Green is out, Arizona could shift WR Christian Kirk to the outside and make WR Rondale Moore the full-time slot receiver.
