Washington Commanders Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Washington DE Montez Sweat has tested positive for COVID and will miss at least the next 10 days, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. That mandated timeline comes because Sweat is not vaccinated. He'll miss at least Sunday's game against Dallas. We'll see about his availability for a Week 15 clash with Philadelphia. Sweat had been slated to return after missing the past 4 games with a jaw fracture.

Washington HC Ron Rivera said Monday that he expects DE Montez Sweat (broken jaw) and S Landon Collins (foot) to be cleared to return to practice this week. Sweat has missed the past 4 games with his injury. Collins missed Sunday's win over the Raiders with an injury he suffered late in the previous week's win over Seattle. We'll keep an eye on the statuses of both players through the week, but it seems they'll be back in play for IDP consideration for Sunday's upside matchup with Dallas.

Washington CB Kendall Fuller (knee) is active for today's game against the Panthers. Use him as you had planned in IDP lineups.

Washington CB Kendall Fuller (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers. He spent Thursday and Friday limited after missing Wednesday's workout.

Washington HC Ron Rivera confirmed to reporters Monday that DE Chase Young tore his right ACL in Sunday's win over the Buccaneers. That will end Young's season. We'll see how it affects his prep for the 2022 season. With DE Montez Sweat also out for at least another 2 games with his broken jaw, James Smith-Williams and Casey Toohill look like the top 2 DEs for Washington.

Washington DE Chase Young left Sunday's game against the Buccaneers with a knee injury and was quickly ruled out. He left the field on a cart, so it doesn't look good for him beyond this week. We'll watch or an official diagnosis.

Update: Multiple reports say Washington fears a torn right ACL.

Washington DE Montez Sweat suffered a jaw fracture in the Week 8 loss at Denver and is expected to miss "at least" the next couple of games, according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post.

Washington CB William Jackson III (knee) is inactive for today's game against Denver. That can only help the matchup for Broncos WRs Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton.

Washington lead CB William Jackson III is inactive for today's game against the Packers, as expected. That only helps the outlook for the Green Bay passing attack -- especially WR Davante Adams.

Top Washington CB William Jackson III (knee) will be inactive for today's game against the Packers. That only enhances an already strong matchup for Packers WR Davante Adams.

Washington LB Cole Holcomb finished the week with no injury status for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. He opened with limited Wednesday and Thursday practices because of a shoulder injury. But Holcomb put in a full Friday workout and should be ready for a solid IDP scoring matchup.

Washington DL Daron Payne is active for today's game against the Saints. He popped up on the Friday injury report with a toe issue that left him questionable, but Payne is available for IDP use.

Washington DL Daron Payne is questionable after apparently sustaining a toe injury in practice this week. Payne was not listed on the Wednesday or Thursday injury reports but missed Friday's workout. We'll check his status Sunday morning.

Washington LB Cole Holcomb is questionable for Sunday's game against the Saints. He's dealing with a shoulder injury that kept him out of Wednesday's practice. Holcomb did return for limited workouts Thursday and Friday, though. We'll check his status Sunday morning.
