Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Jaguars RB James Robinson (Achilles) will not be placed on the PUP list to open training camp, HC Doug Pederson said. That makes Robinson ineligible for the reserve PUP, which means Jacksonville believes he'll be available before Week 5. Robinson is just about 7 months removed from tearing his left Achilles. We're still not excited about his 2022 fantasy outlook, but his surprisingly fast recovery from this injury is at least a slight concern for folks hoping for a Travis Etienne breakout this season.
Jaguars RB Travis Etienne looks fully recovered from last year's Lisfranc injury, according to Sports Illustrated's John Shipley. "Etienne's explosion and ability to quickly cut and make breaks stood out during pass-catching drills," Shipley wrote after watching OTAs. A healthy Etienne has breakout potential this season.
Jaguars HC Doug Pederson said Monday that RB Travis Etienne is a "full go" for OTAs this week, according to NFL.com. Etienne is coming off a Lisfranc injury that cost him his entire rookie season. But the fact that he's all the way back for on-field work this early in the 2022 cycle removes his primary concern. We'll watch for setbacks, but consider us excited for Etienne's fantasy upside this season (and beyond).
Jaguars RB Travis Etienne said he's "85-90%" recovered from last August's Lisfranc injury to his left foot. He's still limited in some of his weight-room work but is doing "the majority of the stuff" in Jacksonville's offseason conditioning program. Etienne expects to receive full clearance by training camp. We'll keep a close eye on his health this summer -- as well as how he'll be deployed in new HC Doug Pederson's offense.
Speaking on The Players Club Podcast, Jags RB Travis Etienne provided an update on his injured foot. Recall that he suffered a Lisfranc injury last preseason. “My foot is doing much better,” Etienne said. “Really just got back into the gym for the first time and I’m squatting for the first time this past week. So that’s been good and I’ve been running for a while now. I’m kind of getting to that 80% to 85% range.” Etienne should be fully healthy for the offseason program, where he’ll look to impress new HC Doug Pederson. James Robinson, meanwhile, might not return until training camp (or later) following a December Achilles’ tear. Etienne snagged 85 balls over his final 2 years at Clemson, so there's reason to believe he'll deliver as a PPR asset.
Jaguars RB Travis Etienne (Lisfranc) told reporters on Monday that he's been running in the pool and will resuming running on the field soon. He expects to be ready for the start of camp. Etienne underwent surgery on September 2 to repair the Lisfranc tear in his left foot. He was expected to be sidelined for 4 months, so it sounds like his rehab is on track. Etienne should be ready to roll for the start of the 2022 season. We can't say the same for RB James Robinson, who tore his left Achilles in late December.
Jaguars RB Travis Etienne is having surgery to repair his Lisfranc injury on Thursday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Etienne is expected to be sidelined for 4 months. So he'll miss his entire rookie season but should be able to participate in most or all of next offseason's practices.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Jaguars RB Travis Etienne will have surgery to repair a Lisfranc tear in his left foot and "likely" miss the entire season. That obviously delivers a big boost to James Robinson, who had been coming off the board well into RB3 range. It also brings Carlos Hyde into late-round view in fantasy football drafts. Robinson now looks like a RB2 with RB1 upside -- which he showed last year -- for fantasy.
Update: The Jaguars have put Etienne on IR, officially ending his season. A player must be on the 53-man roster as of 4 p.m. on Aug. 31 to be eligible for short-term IR.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Jaguars RB Travis Etienne suffered a mid-foot sprain in his left foot Monday night and is "out indefinitely." ESPN's Stephania Bell adds that recovery time for the injury can vary widely, so there's more to learn about the specifics of Etienne's situation. For now, the rookie should drop into the double-digit rounds of fantasy football drafts. James Robinson, meanwhile, becomes a solid-to-good RB3 with upside well into RB2 range. We'll see how much his ADP spikes this week. Carlos Hyde also becomes a late-draft consideration.
Jaguars RB Travis Etienne left Monday night's preseason game against the Saints with a foot injury and is officially questionable to return, according to ESPN's Field Yates. Jacksonville obviously has no reason to push him back into the exhibition. We'll see how serious the issue is beyond that.
Jaguars RB Travis Etienne has been busy and effective in the passing game early in camp, according to Sports Illustrated's John Shipley. The rookie "has shown terrific hands and burst after the catch," Shipley adds. It's still unclear how carries will be divvied in Jacksonville between Etienne and James Robinson. But Etienne is the clear favorite to lead the way in targets after catching 85 balls over his final 2 seasons at Clemson.
