Tampa Bay Buccaneers Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Both Buccaneers starting outside CBs are questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans. HC Todd Bowles says Carlton Davis (toe) will be a game-time decision. Jamel Dean remains in the concussion protocol as of Saturday afternoon, though he progressed to a full Friday practice. We'll see about the status of both players heading into the game. Losing either would add upside to the Tennessee passing game. Titans WR DeAndre Hopkins already makes for a solid WR2 play across fantasy formats. Rookie QB Will Levis will be a boom/bust fantasy option in his third NFL start regardless of Tampa's specific defensive lineup. The CB injuries obviously add potential upside, though.

Buccaneers DT Vita Vea (foot) is active for today's game against the Falcons.

Buccaneers Edge Shaq Barrett (illness) is active for today's game against the Lions. He's a lower-level IDP option, though.

Buccaneers Edge Shaq Barrett is questionable for Sunday's game against the Lions after missing the past two days of practice with an illness. We haven't seen anything on his expectations for Sunday, so we'll check his status ahead of kickoff.

Buccaneers LB Devin White (foot), CB Carlton Davis (toe), and DT Vita Vea (pectoral) are all active for today's game against the Saints. Use any as planned in your IDP lineups.

Buccaneers CB Carlton Davis (toe) is inactive for tonight's game against the Eagles. That can only help the matchup for Philly's WRs. LB Devin White (groin) is active. He arrived questionable after a groin injury popped up during the practice week.

The Buccaneers have ruled CB Carlton Davis (toe) out for Sunday's game against the Bears. Davis missed practice all week despite playing every snap in the season opener. Second-year CB Zyon McCollum will take his place Sunday. LB Lavonte David also missed Friday's practice, but it was merely a rest day. He's ready to go.

Buccaneers rookie DT Calijah Kancey is expected to miss four weeks after straining his right calf. That would cost the first-round pick all three preseason games but give him a shot at being ready for the opener. We wouldn't bet on Kancey getting near full playing time early under that scenario. The rookie already sat low in our 2023 IDP rankings. We'll keep an eye on his status upon his return from this injury.

The Buccaneers selected DT Calijah Kancey in Round 1 of the 2023 NFL Draft. Kancey enjoyed a highly productive three years at Pittsburgh. He averaged 0.93 tackles for loss per game for his career; 1.32 per game for his final season. Kancey delivered a 99th-percentile 40 time at the Scouting Combine. He’s minuscule for the position by historical standards, though: 6’1, 281 pounds, with 1st-percentile arm length. We’re not betting against the upside, but those measurements make Kancey risky. Playing next to block-eating DT Vita Vea should help. See where we valued Kancey in our pre-draft IDP rookie rankings.

Buccaneers S Antoine Winfield Jr. (ankle), S Mike Edwards (hamstring) and CB Jamel Dean (toe) are active for today's game against the Panthers. Each entered the day questionable. The secondary will miss lead corner Carlton Davis, who was doubtful to play.

Buccaneers CB Carlton Davis (shoulder) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Panthers. Fellow CB Jamel Dean (toe) is questionable but finished the week with a full Friday practice after 2 limited workouts. He missed the previous 2 games. S Antoine Winfield Jr. (ankle) and S Mike Edwards (hamstring) are also questionable after going limited all week. Each guy played through the same issue in last Sunday's win over the Cardinals. In Winfield's case, this week's practice run marked an upgrade. He sat out all 3 days last week before playing through a "questionable" tag. We'll update all the questionable CBs when Sunday's inactives arrive.

Buccaneers S Antoine Winfield Jr. (ankle), S Keanu Neal (toe) and S Mike Edwards (hamstring) are active for tonight's game against the Cardinals. If you waited on any of them, use as planned in your IDP lineups.

Buccaneers S Antoine Winfield Jr. (ankle), S Mike Edwards (hamstring) and S Keanu Neal (toe) are all questionable for Sunday night's game against the Cardinals. Winfield missed practice all week and looks quite iffy. We've knocked him down the Week 16 IDP rankings. Edwards popped up on the injury report for the 1st time Friday. Neal put in 2 limited workouts after sitting out Wednesday. We'll check on all 3 players ahead of the game. But being the 2nd-to-last kickoff of the weekend makes all 3 difficult to wait on -- and probably not worth it in most cases.

The Buccaneers might get safeties Antoine Winfield Jr. and Mike Edwards back Sunday against the Bengals. Both are questionable after missing the past 2 games. Edwards (hamstring) put in full practices Thursday and Friday. Winfield (ankle) remained limited all 3 days. We'll see about their statuses Sunday. Tampa Bay ruled DT Vita Vea (calf), CB Jamel Dean (toe) and EDGE Carl Nassib (pectoral) out for the game. CB Sean Murphy-Bunting (quad) is questionable after putting in full practices every day. EDGE Joe Tryon-Shoyinka (hip) is also questionable after finishing the week with full participation Friday. We'll update all questionable defenders Sunday.

Buccaneers S Antoine Winfield Jr. (ankle) and S Mike Edwards (hamstring) are doubtful for Sunday's game against the 49ers. Both guys missed Monday night's game against the Saints as well, leaving Keanu Neal and Logan Ryan as the starters.
