Mo Alie-Cox Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Colts TE Jelani Woods was placed on season-ending IR after having surgery for turf toe. Woods missed all of last season with a hamstring injury and now will go through two years without playing. TEs Kylen Granson and Mo Alie-Cox will replace the hole left by Woods' injury.

Colts TE Jelani Woods had successful surgery on his turf toe and will be out for multiple months. He may be able to return toward the end of the season to help the Colts make a push to the playoffs.

Colts TE Jelani Woods will have surgery this week to repair his turf toe and will be out "indefinitely," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Colts beat writer Nate Atkins believes “the upside is still extremely high" on TE Jelani Woods. The 25-year-old missed all of last season with a hamstring injury. Back healthy, Atkins points out Woods’ freakish athleticism and the opportunity awaiting him at TE.

Colts TE Jelani Woods dealt with recurring injuries to both hamstrings throughout last year. He hurt one last offseason and then the other when attempting to return during the season. He didn't play a single game in 2023. But Woods focused on strengthening his hamstrings, quads, and hips this offseason and believes he's solved the problem.

Colts TE Jelani Woods has been on IR with a hamstring injury since August. Recently, he suffered a new hamstring injury to the other leg. “Jelani, actually, had a setback with his other hamstring during the rehab,” HC Shane Steichen said Monday. The first-year HC wouldn’t commit to Woods returning in 2023. Mo Alie-Cox and Kylen Granson shared TE duties before Indy’s Week 11 bye, but neither guy is an intriguing fantasy add.

Colts TE Kylen Granson (concussion) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Browns. He's operated as the Colts' lead TE this season, registering a 62% route rate and 11.7% target share. Granson's absence leaves the Colts with TEs Andrew Ogletree, Will Mallory, and Mo-Alie Cox. Avoid the situation in Week 7 fantasy lineups.

Colts TE Kylen Granson (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday. He's unlikely to be cleared in time for Sunday's game vs. the Browns. Granson leads Colts TEs in route rate (62%) and targets (26). His absence would free up work for TEs Andrew Ogletree, Will Mallory, and Mo-Alie Cox. But none of those guys would be bankable fantasy plays.

Kylen Granson led Colts TEs with 3 targets in Sunday's win over the Titans, but he saw negative development for his role. Andrew Ogletree led the position in snaps, playing 40 to Granson's 26, according to Pro Football Focus. Granson still led in routes, but that lead shrank to 12-9 -- with TE Mo Alie-Cox adding 7 routes (before leaving with a concussion). That 42.9% route rate marked a second straight dip vs. 56.7% in Week 4 and 67.3% in Week 3. Ogletree added 2-16 receiving on 2 targets, and Alie-Cox caught his lone target for 17 yards. With TE Jelani Woods still due back from IR soon, it's tough to see any Colts TE as worth rostering in redraft leagues right now.

Colts TE Kylen Granson was added to the injury report and is now questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Texans with a hamstring. Granson led Colts TEs in Week 1 with a 71% route rate and six targets. His absence would leave Indianapolis with TEs Mo Alie-Cox and Andrew Ogletree.

Per beat writer Kevin Bowen, the Colts have “mixed and matched a lot” with their TEs in training camp. Bowen mentioned a “rotation” of Mo Alie-Cox, Jelani Woods, Drew Ogletree, and Kylen Granson. “It’s difficult to see much separation so far,” Bowen concluded. We remain intrigued by Woods given his combo of size and athleticism. But this is a good reminder that he still needs to earn a role. The 24-year-old posted 25-312-3 as a rookie.

Colts TE Kylen Granson (ankle) is out for Monday night's game vs. the Chargers. That leaves Jelani Woods and Mo Alie-Cox in Indianapolis' TE room. Woods posted a big 8-98 line on 9 targets when Granson missed the Week 12 game vs. the Steelers.

Colts TE Kylen Granson (illness) is inactive for tonight's game against the Steelers. That leaves a little more room for TEs Mo Alie-Cox and Jelani Woods to potentially factor into DFS showdown lineups.

Colts TE Kylen Granson (illness) is now listed as doubtful to face the Steelers on Monday night. Formerly, he was listed as questionable. Look for the Colts to lean on TEs Jelani Woods and Mo-Alie Cox against Pittsburgh.

Colts TE Kylen Granson was limited in practice all week with an illness and is listed as questionable for Monday night's game vs. the Steelers. Indianapolis would be left with TEs Mo Alie-Cox and Jelani Woods if Granson is unable to play. Continue avoiding the situation in season-long leagues.

Colts TE Jelani Woods (shoulder) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Eagles. That again leaves Indianapolis down to Kylen Granson and Mo Alie-Cox at TE. They both ran routes on about half of Colts pass plays last week, but Granson out-targeted Alie-Cox 4 to 0.

Colts TE Mo Alie-Cox (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Raiders. He joins Kylen Granson in the TE corps, with TE Jelani Woods (shoulder) out.

Colts TE Jelani Woods (shoulder) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Raiders. TE Mo Alie-Cox (ankle) is listed as questionable after getting in just a limited practice on Friday. Alie-Cox’s absence would leave TE Kylen Granson as Indianapolis’ clear lead TE. That might make him a DFS consideration, but you should be able to do better in season-long fantasy lineups.

Colts QB Matt Ryan threw for a season-high 356 yards and 2 TDs in Sunday's loss to the Titans. He spread the ball around. TE Mo Alie-Cox, WR Alec Pierce and WR Michael Pittman tied for the target lead with 6 apiece. Alie-Cox caught all of his for 85 yards and both TDs. Pierce caught 4 balls for 80 yards. Pittman was limited to 3 catches for 31 yards. TE Kyle Granson and WR Parris Campbell also hauled in 4 receptions apiece. Challenging matchups with Denver and Jacksonville lie ahead the next 2 weeks.
