Los Angeles Rams Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Rams DL Aaron Donald suffered a high-ankle sprain in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. HC Sean McVay said Monday that his status for Sunday's game against the Seahawks is "TBD," according to Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times. Losing Donald would obviously significantly impact the L.A. defense. We'll watch his status this week.

Rams DL Aaron Donald (foot) is active for today's game against the Panthers. He belongs in most IDP lineups.

Rams DL Aaron Donald is questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers. He's dealing with a foot injury that kept him out of practice this week. HC Sean McVay said Friday that he expects Donald to play. If he's active, Donald should be in IDP lineups.

Rams S Taylor Rapp (ribs) is active for today's game against the Cowboys.

Rams S Taylor Rapp (ribs) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Cowboys. He opened the week with 2 limited practices but then sat out Friday. We'll check his status Sunday.

Rams S Jordan Fuller (hamstring) is inactive for today's game against the Cardinals.

Rams S Jordan Fuller (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. He sustained the injury Thursday and then missed Friday's practice. Fuller actually worked behind S Nick Scott (who started alongside S Taylor Rapp) in Week 2, so this shouldn't impact IDP decisions. The team has also ruled CB David Long out for Sunday's game.

Rams EDGE Leonard Floyd (knee) is active for today's game against the Falcons. The injury -- suffered in Wednesday's practice -- might affect his output, but it's a nice matchup if you planned to use Floyd.

Rams EDGE Leonard Floyd hurt a knee in Wednesday's practice and is questionable for Sunday's game against the Falcons. HC Sean McVay said Floyd's knee checked out structurally, but he missed practice each of the past 2 days. Floyd doesn't look like a good bet to play. Even if he does, he'll be risky. Don't play to use him in IDP lineups.

Rams-Bengals joint practice Thursday ended early because of an embarrassing brawl. That included Rams DT Aaron Donald swinging a helmet, an action that now has many calling for the vet to be suspended. One issue getting in the way of swift movement on this front is that the NFL reportedly isn't in charge of player behavior at practices. That responsibility falls to the teams. So the Rams would need to take action against Donald. We'll see whether their hand is forced -- or if nothing happens to Donald. We obviously can't adjust our fantasy outlook for him until something happens. It's at least a situation to be aware of in the thick of fantasy football draft season, though.

Update: The Rams tell ESPN's Sarah Barshop that "the incident will be addressed internally, and any discipline will remain in house." Doesn't sound like they'll be doing much.

Rams DL Aaron Donald told NBC's Peter King that he's committed to the Rams at least through 2023. His latest contract extension runs through 2024 but includes no penalty for leaving after 2023. Donald turned 31 in May, and there was some rumor this offseason of him contemplating retirement.

After announcing Friday that CB Jalen Ramsey would start training camp on the PUP, the Rams changed their mind Sunday. “We ended up not putting Ramsey on the PUP as a result of doctors cleared him in a limited fashion that enables him to participate in a lot of the jog throughs — the above the neck stuff, and to be able to have him out here with his teammates with all the different things that we ask of him,” HC Sean McVay said Sunday, per Pro Football Talk. That sounds like Ramsey isn't quite all the way back from his June shoulder surgery. But he's likely close enough that we can assume he'll be ready for the regular-season opener.

The Rams have placed CB Jalen Ramsey on the PUP list to open training camp. He had shoulder surgery in June, so the camp-opening inactivity doesn't come as a surprise. it was reported at the time the team expected Ramsey to be ready for the regular season. We'll see whether that holds true.

Rams CB Jalen Ramsey had surgery Tuesday on his left shoulder. NFL Network's Ian Rapport reports that Ramsey played through tears in both shoulders last season. The team expects Ramsey to be ready for the regular season, but we'll see how long he's out of action. This seems odd timing for the operation, just a little more than a month away from the start of training camp.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Jaguars will be signing CB Darious Williams to a 3-year, $39 million deal. Williams spent most of the past 2 seasons starting for the Rams. After snagging 4 INTs and tallying 14 passes defensed in 2020, he went without a pick in 14 games last season -- navigating around injury. Williams should be IDP relevant in Jacksonville but doesn't look like a high-level factor.

Former Rams DT Sebastian Joseph-Day is expected to sign a 3-year, $24 million deal ($15 million guaranteed) with the Chargers, according to Chris Carlin of ESPN New York. Joseph-Day lost 10 games to a chest injury that required surgery last season but otherwise played every game for the Rams over the past 2 years. He'll help rebuild a Chargers front that the team clearly believed needed attention after 2021. Joseph-Day delivered nice tackle production in 2021 before his injury but hasn't otherwise been a special IDP contributor. Don't expect to see him high in our 2022 IDP rankings.

Rams S Taylor Rapp (shoulder), DL Greg Gaines (hand) and edge Leonard Floyd (ankle) are active for today's game against the Ravens.

Rams DL Greg Gaines (hand) and S Taylor Rapp (shoulder) are questionable for Sunday's game against the Ravens. We'll check their statuses Sunday morning.
