Kenneth Walker III Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll alluded to more passing-game work coming for RB Kenneth Walker, who has just 3 catches on 5 targets over the past 3 weeks. "I don’t really feel like we cut him loose yet," Carroll said. "I think he has big games ahead ... I think we are going to see even more than we have seen already, and not just in the run game, but the pass game too." Walker actually lost some pass routes to RB Travis Homer last week. Don't expect him to put up big numbers as a receiver, but even 2 or 3 catches per game would be a big boost to his already exciting fantasy value.

Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker Jr. posted a pedestrian 51 yards on 18 carries in Sunday's win over the Giants. He saved his fantasy day with an impressive cutback run for a 16-yard TD in the 4th quarter and continued to dominated backfield work. RB Travis Homer ran just 10 pass routes to Walker's 23 in his return from IR, according to Pro Football Focus numbers. RB DeeJay Dallas got on the field for just 5 snaps. Walker has now tallied 18+ carries and 20+ opportunities in 3 straight games.

Seahawks RB Travis Homer (ribs) has been activated from IR, putting him on track to play vs. the Giants on Sunday. Homer was getting some passing-down work before going down in Week 3. We'll see how much of that he steals from RB Ken Walker going forward.

Seahawks RB Travis Homer (ribs) has been designated to return from IR. He'll practice on Wednesday and is eligible to play vs. the Giants this weekend if he's ready. Homer was operating in a pass-catching role before going down and figures to swipe that job back from RB DeeJay Dallas. We'll see how much he eats into RB Ken Walker's pass-catching work. The rookie ran a route on a season-high 62% of pass plays last week.

Seahawks rookie RB Kenneth Walker racked up 168 yards and 2 TDs on 23 carries in Sunday's win over the Chargers. The biggest strike came on a 74-yard TD run with just less than 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter. He also scored from 12 yards out in the 1st quarter. Walker didn't see a target in the game, but his 19 routes tied for 3rd among Seahawks, according to Pro Football Focus. RB DeeJay Dallas caught both of his targets but ran 10 fewer routes than Walker. He added 35 yards on 6 carries.

Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker rushed 21 times for 97 yards and a TD in Sunday's win over the Cardinals. He also drew the only 3 targets among Seattle RBs, catching 2 for 13 yards. Walker did trail RB DeeJay Dallas 17-15 in routes, so we'll see whether that target lead holds up. Week 7 presents a lackluster Chargers run defense.

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll confirmed Monday that RB Rashaad Penny needs season-ending surgery. He broke his fibula and damaged his tibia in the loss to the Saints. It's another tough break for a guy who's struggled with a plethora of injuries over the past 5 seasons. Penny will turn 27 in February and is scheduled to hit free agency in March. His absence leaves 2nd-round rookie Kenneth Walker as Seattle's clear lead back. We'll see how much passing-game work he's able to garner. But rushing production alone should make him at least a weekly RB2 in fantasy lineups.

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll said after Sunday's game that RB Rashaad Penny's ankle injury is "serious," according to Greg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune. Carroll also reportedly said it will be "very tough" for the team to get him back. Sounds like this might be a season-ender. We'll watch for further updates.

Update: NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that it's a fractured tibia, with tests coming Monday to asses to level of damage and whether he'll need surgery.

Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny suffered an ankle injury in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Saints and is doubtful to return. That leaves lead duties to rookie RB Ken Walker.

Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker (shoulder) is active for today’s game vs. the Saints. He figures to work behind RB Rashaad Penny again and isn’t a recommended fantasy play.

Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny (shoulder) isn't listed on the final Week 5 injury report. He got Wednesday off but put in full practices on Thursday and Friday. Penny looks ready for his usual role vs. the Saints this weekend. RB Kenneth Walker (shoulder) is listed as questionable, but HC Pete Carroll said Friday that the rookie should play.

Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny racked up 151 yards and 2 TDs on 17 carries in Sunday's victory over the Lions. Penny scored from 36 and 41 yards out in the 2nd half of a game that saw him run for just 8 yards on 5 carries in the 1st half. Rookie RB Kenneth Walker saw about half the playing time and garnered exactly half as many opportunities (18-9). Penny gets what should be a tougher draw in the New Orleans defense in Week 5.

The Seahawks placed RB Travis Homer (ribs) on IR. He's out at least the next 4 weeks. Homer had been playing a passing-down role for Seattle before the injury. We'd expect that work to now go to RB DeeJay Dallas, but we'll see if RBs Rashaad Penny or Ken Walker can pick up some of it.

Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker (hernia) is not listed on the final Week 2 injury report. He put in full practices on Wednesday and Friday and a limited workout on Thursday. Walker is ready to make his NFL debut vs. the 49ers this weekend, although we’re expecting him to work behind RB Rashaad Penny.

Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker (hernia) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. That puts him on track to play vs. the 49ers this weekend. Walker figures to play well behind RB Rashaad Penny in his NFL debut, so he's not a recommended Week 2 fantasy play. But the talented rookie could quickly earn a significant role and should be rostered in leagues of 10+ teams.

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll said Tuesday that RB Kenneth Walker (hernia) will play in this weekend's game vs. the 49ers. We'll wait to see if Walker gets on the practice field this week before adding him to the Week 2 Rankings. If Walker plays, he figures to debut as the clear #2 RB behind Rashaad Penny.

Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny handled 12 of 13 team RB carries and all 3 RB targets in a Week 1 win over Denver. Note that rookie Kenneth Walker sat this one out with a hernia. Penny, meanwhile, proved efficient with 5.0 yards per carry, but he did fumble after getting stripped at the end of a 26-yard gain. (Wisely, he wasn't benched.) All in all, it was an encouraging showing from a guy that took the league by storm late last year. We'll see if Walker’s able to return to practice this week.

Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker (hernia) is inactive for tonight's game vs. the Broncos. He was listed as questionable but didn't practice all week. We're not counting on Walker making it back for Week 2 but will monitor his progress. RB Rashaad Penny should handle the vast majority of early-down work tonight. RBs DeeJay Dallas and/or Travis Homer figure to steal pass-catching work.
