James Proche Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Browns WR Cedric Tillman (concussion) is out for Saturday's Wild Card game vs. the Texans. The rookie has been a full-time player for Cleveland over the second half of the season and averaged 5.0 targets over the last seven games. His snaps will go to some combination of WRs David Bell, James Proche, and Marquise Goodwin. But Tillman's targets might just be soaked up by WR Amari Cooper and TE David Njoku.

Browns WR Cedric Tillman (concussion) did not practice on Tuesday. He's more likely than not to miss Saturday's Wild Card game vs. the Texans. Tillman has been a full-time player for Cleveland over the second half of the season and averaged 5.0 targets over the last seven games, so his absence would be felt. The rookie's snaps would likely go to some combination of WRs David Bell, James Proche, and Marquise Goodwin.

Browns WRs Elijah Moore (concussion) is active for today’s game vs. the Bengals. He’s cleared concussion protocol but still might not play much with Cleveland having nothing to gain today. WR Marquise Goodwin (knee) is inactive, leaving the Browns with WRs Cedric Tillman, David Bell, and James Proche alongside Moore.

Ravens WR Devin Duvernay has been placed on IR with a foot injury he suffered in Tuesday's practice. It's unclear if he has a shot to return when first eligible for the Divisional Round of the playoffs, but his regular season is over. Baltimore added WR Sammy Watkins in a corresponding move. Watkins spent last season with the Ravens but mustered just a 27-394-1 line across 13 games. He looked equally washed with the Packers this season. Watkins joins Demarcus Robinson, DeSean Jackson and James Proche in the WR corps.

Ravens WR Demarcus Robinson (groin) is listed as questionable for Monday night's game vs. the Saints. He was added to the injury report on Friday and did not practice on Saturday, so he seems truly iffy for this one. Robinson tallied season highs with 8 targets, 6 catches and 64 yards last week but wasn't a bankable Week 9 fantasy play even before this injury. His absence would leave the Ravens with WRs Devin Duvernay, James Proche, Tylan Wallace and DeSean Jackson, who's expected to make his debut in this one.

Ravens WR Rashod Bateman (foot) missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday. At this point, he seems unlikely to play vs. the Bengals on Sunday night. Bateman's absence would leave Baltimore with WRs Devin Duvernay, Demarcus Robinson, James Proche and Tylan Wallace.

Ravens WR James Proche (groin) is doubtful for Sunday's game vs. the Dolphins. He played just 5 snaps in the opener, so there's no fantasy impact here.

Three days after getting dumped by the Raiders, WR Demarcus Robinson has signed with the Ravens. It's obviously not a good look that Robinson couldn't crack a thin Vegas WR corps. But Baltimore's WR room is even weaker. Robinson will duke it out with James Proche, Devin Duvernay and Tylan Wallace for snaps behind WR Rashod Bateman. We'll keep an eye on Robinson but wouldn't spend a roster spot on him in any redraft or best-ball leagues.

Ravens HC John Harbaugh said after Thursday night's preseason opener that WR James Proche didn't play because of an unspecified "soft-tissue deal." The coach indicated that it's minor and said the young wideout will miss "a week or 2." We'll keep an eye out for more details.

Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic named James Proche the standout WR of Ravens minicamp/OTAs. Of course, we’re talking about padless practices, and Zrebiec even points out that Proche won the offseason over his first 2 seasons. Still, the long-time beat writer credits Proche’s toughness, confidence and good hands as reasons for him to be a “bigger contributor” this fall. Clearly, Baltimore has a major need at WR behind Rashod Bateman. A veteran signing remains likely, but there could be some deep league value to mine if Proche can lock down a steady role. At 5’11, 201 pounds, Proche was a considered a productive, sure-handed prospect coming out of SMU. He's tallied 17 catches through 2 pro seasons.
