Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Jets WR Garrett Wilson gobbled up nearly all of his team's receiving production in Sunday's win over the Bills. He drew 36% of QB Zach Wilson's pass attempts (9 targets), caught 44.4% of his completions (8) and amassed 59.7% of the team's yardage (92). Wilson was polite enough to let RB James Robinson claim the only TD reception. Zach Wilson threw for just 154 yards overall, with no 2nd Jet exceeding 16 receiving yards. Robinson and C.J. Uzomah were the only other 2 Jets to catch multiple passes. WR Denzel Mims ranked 2nd behind Garrett Wilson in playing time and routes but caught just 1 of 4 targets. TE Tyler Conklin continued to play clearly ahead of Uzomah, especially as a receiver (24 routes to Uzomah's 10, according to Pro Football Focus). The Jets now get a Week 10 bye. Perhaps someone will reacquaint them with WR Elijah Moore during that time off. He actually ranked 3rd among Jets WRs in playing time Sunday but didn't garner a target.
Jets WR Corey Davis (knee) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Bills. HC Robert Saleh expects him back after the Week 10 bye. Garrett Wilson should again be New York's top WR this weekend. Denzel Mims operated as the #2 WR last week, with WR Elijah Moore playing just 10 snaps.
Jets WR Corey Davis (knee) remained sidelined on Wednesday. That doesn't bode well for his chances of returning for Sunday's game vs. the Bills. With Davis out last weekend, Denzel Mims -- not Elijah Moore -- operated as New York's #2 WR behind Garrett Wilson.
Jets WR Garrett Wilson tallied 115 yards on 6 catches in Sunday's loss to the Patriots. It was an efficient receiving day on 7 targets, which tied RB Michael Carter for 2nd on the team. It was the 1st career 300-yard passing game for QB Zach Wilson, who finished the previous 3 games with 210 or less and has cracked 260 just 1 other time. We still wouldn't be excited to play Wilson against the Bills in Week 9.
Jets WR Corey Davis (knee) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Patriots. HC Robert Saleh confirmed Friday that WR Elijah Moore will return for that one and join Garrett Wilson as New York's top 2 WRs. The Jets might throw it a bit more with RB Breece Hall out, but neither Wilson nor Moore is an attractive Week 8 fantasy play against New England's 10th-ranked WR defense.
Jets WR Corey Davis (knee) did not practice on Wednesday. Reportedly dealing with a sprained MCL, he's unlikely to play vs. the Patriots this weekend. That'll leave Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore as the top-2 WRs for the run-heavy Jets.
The Jets believe WR Corey Davis suffered an MCL sprain in Sunday's win over the Broncos, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. HC Robert Saleh said afterwards that it's not a long-term injury. We should get a more concrete timeline for Davis on Monday. His absence will leave Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore (assuming he stays with the team) as the Jets' clear top-2 WRs. This has been an extremely run-heavy offense under QB Zach Wilson, but New York might throw it a bit more going forward without RB Breece Hall.
Jets HC Robert Saleh announced Friday that WR Elijah Moore won't play vs. the Broncos this weekend. Moore requested a trade earlier this week after going without a target in last week's win over the Packers. The Jets, as of now, say they're not trading him. We'll see where this goes. WR Denzel Mims is expected to replace Moore in the starting lineup on Sunday but isn't a viable fantasy play. WRs Garrett Wilson and Corey Davis get slight boosts with Moore out but remain uninspiring fantasy options in this run-heavy offense.
Jets HC Robert Saleh announced Wednesday that QB Zach Wilson has been medically cleared from the meniscus tear and bone bruise he suffered in his knee in mid-August. Barring a setback this week, Wilson will start Sunday's game vs. the Steelers. He shouldn't be in fantasy lineups, but we'll see what he means for New York's skill-position guys. QB Joe Flacco currently leads the NFL with 155 pass attempts but completed just 59% of them and averaged an ugly 5.8 yards per attempt. Wilson is certainly capable of beating those numbers.
Jets WRs Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore drew a matching 10 targets in Sunday's loss to the Bengals, trailing only rookie RB Breece Hall (11). Wilson caught 6 balls for 60 yards. Moore secured 4 for 49. Moore once again led the group in playing time, staying on the field for 28 more snaps and running 19 more routes than Wilson. But the rookie has consistently been targeted on a higher percentage of his routes. According to Pro Football Focus numbers, Wilson has been targeted on 25.6% of his routes, vs. 13.1% for Moore. We'll see how QB Zach Wilson's impending return from a knee injury affects that. Corey Davis remained between Moore and Wilson in playing time but trailed them in targets (5) and production (2 catches, 27 yards). TE Tyler Conklin led the Jets in receptions (8) and receiving yards (84) on 8 targets in the loss to Cincinnati.
Jets WR Garrett Wilson exited in the 2nd quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Bengals after taking a shot to the ribs. He headed back to the x-ray room, according to insider Brian Costello. We'll update Wilson's status when we know more.
Update: Wilson is questionable to return with a knee injury, the team announced.
Update: Wilson returned in the 3rd quarter.
Jets QB Zach Wilson is expected to be cleared by doctors next week to return from the meniscus tear and bone bruise in his knee, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "That puts him in line to play against the Steelers in Week 4," Rapoport adds. We'll track Wilson's practice participation this week and then see how he fares after what was reportedly an up-and-down offseason.
Jets WR Corey Davis (knee) is questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Bengals. He was added to the injury report on Thursday and limited again in Friday’s practice. Davis isn’t an enticing fantasy option at less than 100%. His absence would be a boost for WRs Elijah Moore and Garrett Wilson.
Jets WR Corey Davis (knee) was added to Thursday's injury report and limited in practice. We'll have a better idea of his status for this weekend's game vs. the Bengals tomorrow. Davis' absence would be a boon to WRs Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore.
Jets WR Garrett Wilson erupted for 8 catches, 102 yards and 2 scores against Cleveland. His 14 targets — yes, 14 — represented a 31.8% team share. Teammate Elijah Moore, meanwhile, mustered only 3 catches on 5 targets. Wilson’s effortless ability to create separation was on display all day, particularly on a 3rd-and goal pass where he was isolated out wide. Later, the rookie found a hole in the middle of Cleveland’s zone and snagged the game-winning score. Through 2 games, Wilson's posted 22-12-154-2 vs. 12-8-90-0 for Moore. We’ll see how this unit is shaken up by the eventual return of Zach Wilson, but for now, Joe Flacco is playing above expectation.
