D'Onta Foreman Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Bears RB D’Onta Foreman (personal) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Cardinals. He returned to a limited practice on Friday after sitting out on Thursday. We’ll look for more info on Foreman’s situation but won’t get Chicago’s inactives until a little before 3 pm ET on Sunday. Foreman’s absence would make RBs Khalil Herbert and Roschon Johnson more attractive fantasy plays in a plus matchup.

RB D'Onta Foreman led the Bears' backfield in Sunday's win over the Lions, coming off the team's Week 13 bye. Foreman handled 11 of 15 RB carries (73.3%) and all 3 of the HB targets. He doubled both Roschon Johnson and Khalil Herbert in routes and played 55% of the offensive snaps. Foreman should be considered the leader heading into Week 15's visit to Cleveland. HC Matt Eberflus said ahead of the Detroit game that he'd be willing to ride the hot hand, so we'll see if the usage changes at all before projecting beyond Week 15. If Foreman does lead again, he could be a difference maker for a high-upside matchup with the Cardinals in Week 16. Johnson and Herbert are mere bench stashes for now.

Bears RB D'Onta Foreman (ankle) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. That puts him on track to play vs. the Lions this weekend. Foreman, Roschon Johnson, and Khalil Herbert haven't played a healthy game together since Week 1, so it's tough to project what this backfield will look like on Sunday. Johnson dominated playing time last time out, registering a 75% snap rate, making him the best bet among these three. But it's a backfield to ideally avoid, especially against Detroit's 11th-ranked RB defense.

Though Week 12's showdown between the Bears and Vikings didn't provide much entertainment, it did shed some light on Chicago's backfield situation. Rookie RB Roschon Johnson ended Monday night with a season-high 75 scrimmage yards on 15 touches. He played on 74.6% of the team's snaps, including all 13 third-down situations. Before this contest, Johnson had never played on over 50% of the Bears' offensive snaps and had just two games with more than 10 touches. His teammate and typical starter Khalil Herbert took a back seat and only played on 15 snaps in the game, seeing 6 carries and 2 catches for a combined 38 yards. Herbert did start but got less than half as many snaps as he played in his Week 11 return from IR -- despite D'Onta Foreman being inactive -- and lost work as a runner and receiver. And there's been no indication of a re-injury or other physical limitation for Herbert. It's just one game, but we'll have to at least enter Week 14 (after the bye) assuming Johnson will now work ahead of Herbert. We'll see about Foreman's availability, after he managed two limited practices ahead of Monday night's game.

Bears RB D'Onta Foreman (ankle, shin) is inactive for tonight's game vs. the Vikings. RBs Khalil Herbert, Roschon Johnson, and Travis Homer are dressed for Chicago. Herbert should handle the majority of the early-down work, with Johnson spelling him on passing downs in particular.

Bears RB D'Onta Foreman (ankle, shin) is listed as doubtful for Monday night's game vs. the Vikings. He got in two limited practices this week, which should put him on track for a Week 13 return. Foreman's absence on Monday should leave RB Khalil Herbert as Chicago's clear lead early-down back, with RB Roschon Johnson playing on passing downs.

Bears RB D'Onta Foreman (ankle, shin) returned to a limited practice on Friday. We'll see what he does on Saturday and how he's listed on the final injury report for Monday night's game vs. the Vikings.

Bears RB D'Onta Foreman (ankle, shin) did not practice on Thursday. His absence in Monday night's game vs. the Vikings would leave Chicago's backfield to Khalil Herbert and Roschon Johnson. We'll keep you updated on Foreman's status over the next few days.

Bears RB D'Onta Foreman is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Lions with an ankle injury. It's presumably the same ankle that limited him in practice throughout the week. We'll update his status when we know more.

Bears RB D'Onta Foreman (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Lions. He was listed as questionable after a limited week of practice. Between the ankle issue and the return of RB Khalil Herbert, Foreman would be a shaky Week 11 fantasy start.

Bears RB D'Onta Foreman (ankle) is expected to play vs. the Lions on Sunday, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Foreman was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable, so it's safe to assume that he won't be at 100%. That, plus the return of RB Khalil Herbert, leaves Foreman as a poor Week 11 fantasy play.

On Saturday, ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted that Bears RB Khalil Herbert has been officially activated off IR ahead of Week 11 vs. the Lions. Herbert's return to action will mark his first game back since injuring his ankle in Week 5 vs. the Commanders. This news lowers the fantasy upside of fellow RBs D'Onta Foreman and Roschon Johnson as we expect the Bears' backfield to be deployed in more of a committee approach. See where each player appears in our current RB rankings for Week 11.

Bears RB Khalil Herbert (ankle, shin) is not listed on the final Week 11 injury report. He got in full practices on Thursday and Friday and will play vs. the Lions this weekend for the first time since Week 5. RB D'Onta Foreman (ankle) is listed as questionable for that one after a limited week of practice. We're betting on Foreman playing, but it sure looks like Herbert is the healthier player right now. That makes him the preferred fantasy start in this backfield, although neither guy is an exciting play vs. Detroit's eighth-ranked RB defense.
