Chris Godwin Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Bucs WR Chris Godwin (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Packers. He didn't practice all week and has no timetable for return.

Bucs WRs Chris Godwin (hamstring) and Julio Jones (knee) remained sidelined on Thursday. They're both looking unlikely to play vs. the Packers this weekend. WR Scotty Miller (calf) was a full-go on Thursday; WR Breshad Perriman (knee) was limited.

Bucs WRs Chris Godwin (hamstring) and Julio Jones (knee) did not practice on Wednesday. Jones seemingly has a better chance than Godwin to play vs. the Packers this weekend. But, with WR Mike Evans suspended, Tampa could be down to WRs Russell Gage, Breshad Perriman and Scotty Miller atop the depth chart.

Bucs WR Mike Evans has been suspended 1 game for his role in Sunday's fight with the Saints, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Evans is considered a repeat offender after getting ejected from a game and suspended for fighting back in 2017. We'll see if Evans appeals this ruling, but fantasy owners need to plan on being without him in Week 3 for now. We'll see if WRs Julio Jones (knee) and/or Chris Godwin (hamstring) can make it back for Sunday's game vs. the Packers. If not, the Bucs will be down to WRs Russell Gage, Breshad Perriman and Scotty Miller.

Bucs WR Chris Godwin (hamstring) is officially out for Sunday's game vs. the Saints. He's expected to miss a few weeks with this hamstring injury, so don't count on having him for Week 3.

Bucs WR Russell Gage (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday. That's a downgrade from his 3 limited practices last week. Gage's availability for this weekend's game vs. the Saints is now uncertain. WR Chris Godwin (hamstring) didn't practice on Wednesday and won't play on Sunday.

Bucs WR Chris Godwin could miss "a few weeks" with the hamstring injury he suffered in Sunday night's win over the Cowboys, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. "There's optimism it's not a major injury," Pelissero adds. We'll let you know if we get a more concrete timetable for Godwin's return. But considering he was just working back from the torn ACL, don't plan on using Godwin in fantasy lineups until October at the earliest. His absence is a boost for WRs Mike Evans, Julio Jones and Russell Gage.

The Buccaneers have ruled WR Chris Godwin out for the rest of the game with a hamstring injury. Godwin limped off the field in the 1st half, and it certainly makes sense to hold him out, regardless of the severity. Godwin entered the game questionable thanks to his return from last December's torn knee ligaments. We'll see about the return timeline for this issue.

Bucs WR Chris Godwin (knee) is active for tonight's game vs. the Cowboys. It’s a surprisingly quick return from last December’s ACL tear. ESPN’s Adam Schefter said this morning, though, that Godwin “could be on a pitch count.” We’d be surprised if he was anything close to a full go.

Bucs WR Chris Godwin (knee) is expected to play vs. the Cowboys tonight, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "He may be eased back, but he should play," Rapoport tweets. Godwin is not even 9 months removed from last year's torn ACL. It's been a speedy recovery, but don't expect to see him at 100% playing time or effectiveness tonight. We'd try to keep Godwin on fantasy benches for Week 1.

The Bucs list WR Chris Godwin (knee) as questionable for Sunday night's game vs. the Cowboys. He put in full practices on Wednesday and Friday, taking Thursday off. HC Todd Bowles said Friday morning that Godwin will be a game-time decision. Expect him to be limited if he does suit up, so Godwin isn't a recommended Week 1 fantasy play.

Bucs WR Chris Godwin said Thursday that he expects to be a game-time decision for Sunday night's opener against the Cowboys. He didn't practice on Thursday, but it sounds like it was a planned rest day. We'll continue to track Godwin's status, but he shouldn't be in your Week 1 fantasy plans. He'll likely be limited if he does suit up this weekend.

The Buccaneers listed WR Chris Godwin as a full practice participant Wednesday, 2 days after he shed the brace on his repaired knee. Although the wideout has yet to commit to playing in the regular-season opener, this sure seems to point to him being on the field. Just how much time he spends on the field, however, might remain in question until the game plays out.
