Alohi Gilman Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Chargers Edge Joey Bosa (back) is active for today's game against the Panthers. He missed the week's final two practices before turning up questionable. It wouldn't be surprising if the Chargers limited Bosa's playing time vs. usual today, with Tuli Tuipulotu and Bud Dupree available to rotate in. We nudged Bosa down our Week 2 rankings on that chance. The Chargers will also have CB Ja'Sir Taylor (questionable, fibula) but will miss S Alohi Gilman (knee).

Chargers S Alohi Gilman (heel) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Bears. Gilman got back to a full practice Friday after two limited workouts. He appears on track to return after missing the past three games. We'll confirm his status Sunday.

Chargers S Derwin James is questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. He suffered an ankle injury Thursday and then missed Friday's workout. That bodes ill for James' chances this weekend, but we haven't yet seen any specifics beyond the questionable tag. We've moved James down our Week 7 DB rankings and will watch for more on his outlook. S Alohi Gilman (toe) has been ruled out for the third straight game.

Chargers S Derwin James (hamstring) is off the final injury report and ready to return Monday night against the Cowboys. James missed Week 4 but took part in full practices all week coming off the Week 5 bye. Get him back into your IDP lineups. Fellow safety Alohi Gilman, however, is doubtful and on track to miss his second straight game. Dean Marlowe is expected to start in his place.

Chargers S Alohi Gilman (heel) is inactive for today's game against the Raiders. That leaves the Chargers down both starting safeties, plus reserve JT Woods. That should leave Raheem Layne and Dean Marlowe as the starters. Marlowe has started games for the Bills, Lions, and Falcons and would be the pickup if you need a late DB starter.

As expected, Chargers S Derwin James won't be suspended for the hit that got him ejected from Monday night's win over the Colts. The play did put him -- as well as WR Ashton Dulin -- into the concussion protocol, though. So James will have to pass through that before getting back onto the field. We'll see whether he can do so ahead of Sunday's game against the Rams.

Chargers S Derwin James (quad) got back to full practice participation Friday for the 1st time since Week 13. That should put him in line to start Monday night against the Colts. We probably won't get the game-status report for that one before the 1 p.m. ET kickoffs on Saturday, but we'd recommend trying to wait on James instead of playing a lesser guy in 1 of those games.

The Chargers on Monday added 7 more players to the COVID list. That group included S Nasir Adderley, starting CBs Chris Harris Jr. and Michael Davis, and S Alohi Gilman, who filled in for Derwin James in Sunday's loss to the Texans. We'll see about the status for all of them as the week progresses.
