Who's that huge former MVP at QB?
Do you remember Jared Lorenzen, former QB for the University of Kentucky and then the New York Giants? How about if I say "The Hefty Lefty?"
Well, if you answered "yes" to either of those questions, then there's exciting news ...
The guy who entered the NFL Draft back in 2004 at 6'3, 288 pounds -- and running a sub-5.3 time in the 40 -- continues to play QB at age 32 and despite carrying even more heft.
Now 320 pounds, Lorenzen took a break from his duties as Jerome Bettis' personal trainer to start Monday night's opener for the Northern Kentucky River Monsters in the Continental Indoor Football League. And you know what? The dude can still move pretty well.
River Monsters fans could hardly wait for the return of the Pilsbury Throwboy, who threw for 3,473 yards and 81 TDs en route to a league MVP award back in 2011.
(Bonus: The CIFL website article that announced Lorenzen's back in December called him a "Super Bowl Champion" ... which is technically true, because he spent 2007 on the Giants' roster.)
Judging by the chart below, Lorenzen seems to outweigh every current NFL QB by at least 70 pounds. He even beats out plenty of guards and some OTs, too.
Just goes to show that you should never give up on your dreams. Or carbs.
