NFL Bye Weeks 2024

Week 6 looks like bye week hell. And how should a Week 14 with six teams on bye impact your fantasy football strategy?

Whether you’re playing redraft fantasy football, best-ball tournaments, or dynasty, properly planning for NFL bye weeks is key to winning a championship.

You don’t want to alter your draft strategy too much to account for bye weeks. But you also don’t want to end up with a bunch of players with the same bye, especially at the same position. 

Finding the right balance is crucial.

Let’s take a look at 2024 NFL bye weeks – and how they’ll impact your fantasy season.

2024 NFL Bye Weeks

NFL Bye Week 5

• Detroit Lions
• Los Angeles Chargers
• Philadelphia Eagles
• Tennessee Titans

The first bye weeks of 2024 come five weeks into the season and take away a pair of top eight offenses from a year ago in the Lions and Eagles.

NFL Bye Week 6

• Kansas City Chiefs
• Los Angeles Rams
• Miami Dolphins
• Minnesota Vikings

This might be the most impactful bye week of the season. All four of these teams finished top 10 in total yards last year. Studs at every position will be unavailable to fantasy owners in Week 6.

NFL Bye Week 7

• Chicago Bears
• Dallas Cowboys

We get a breather in Week 7 with only two teams on bye, although there's still plenty of firepower that will need to be on fantasy benches.

NFL Bye Week 9

• Pittsburgh Steelers
• San Francisco 49ers

After a bye-less Week 8, we get just two teams off in Week 9. But one of those teams is the 49ers, one of the most talent-rich offenses in the NFL.

• Cleveland Browns
• Green Bay Packers
• Las Vegas Raiders
• Seattle Seahawks

A four-team Week 10 bye will find a bunch of weekly starters at WR unavailable to fantasy squads.

• Arizona Cardinals
• Carolina Panthers
• New York Giants
• Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This four-team bye week doesn't look as impactful as the last, with the Panthers and Giants projecting to have few fantasy starters.

• Buffalo Bills
• Cincinnati Bengals
• Jacksonville Jaguars
• New Orleans Saints
• New York Jets

A six-team bye week late in the season could play a big part in determining whether your fantasy team makes the playoffs. This is also the first week of league playoffs in the FFPC Main Event.

• Houston Texans
• Indianapolis Colts
• New England Patriots
• Washington Commanders

Ouch.

Six teams on bye for the final week of many fantasy leagues' regular season -- and the league championship round in the FFPC Main Event. 

Plus, the six teams house a bunch of high-end fantasy starters, particularly at QB.

We're not altering our rankings for these Week 14 byes, but you could certainly use it as a tiebreaker if you're deciding between two similarly ranked players.
