IDP Waiver Wire Pickups: Week 11

By Matt Schauf | Updated on Tue, 12 Nov 2024 . 10:18 PM EST
Zach Sieler returned from injury for a nice Monday night game. His Week 11 matchup could prove even better.

Week 11 Matchups Present Upside

This list of IDP waiver wire pickups is sorted by position, and then by priorty.

Of course, IDP leagues vary widely by depth, scoring rules, and lineup settings. So to get the best measure of who to pick up in your league, check your Free Agent Finder.

It's the best fantasy football waiver wire assistant you'll find.

Zach Sieler, DL, Miami Dolphins

Headshot of Zach Sieler

Sieler returned from a two-game eye injury for Monday night’s visit to the Rams. He tied his season high with 5 total tackles, also delivering his fourth tackle for loss, sixth QB hit, and second pass deflection of the season.

But you should pick Sieler up for his Week 11 matchup with the Raiders. Vegas entered Week 10 having allowed the league’s fifth-highest pressure rate, according to Pro Football Reference. That included 5 sacks allowed their last time out.

The Raiders have also allowed the second-most fantasy points per game to D-linemen.

Beyond that sit upside matchups with the Patriots (Week 12), Jets (Week 14), and Browns (Week 17).

Carl Granderson, Edge, New Orleans Saints

Headshot of Carl Granderson

Granderson went mostly empty on the stat sheet for Sunday’s win over the Falcons, posting only a pair of pass deflections. He also has just a half-sack total among his past seven contests.

But Week 11 brings a top-shelf matchup with the Browns. Jameis Winston took 6 sacks his last time out. And Cleveland for the season has allowed 12 more sacks than any other team.

Granderson looks like a one-week rental, though, with a Week 12 bye to follow.

Bud Dupree, Edge, Los Angeles Chargers

Headshot of Bud Dupree

Dupree’s always a boom-bust prospect, which makes him only a target for sack- and pressure-friendly leagues. But the Chargers’ current situation boosts his upside.

Edge Khalil Mack left each of the past two games early with a groin injury. Sunday’s win over the Titans found him able to play only 4 snaps after missing practice during the week.

Edge Joey Bosa also remains a limited contributor, playing no more than 20 snaps in any game since Week 1.

That combo has meant Dupree’s two largest snap shares of the season the past two weeks. He used those opportunities to show you both his ceiling (5 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble vs. Tennessee) and his cavernous floor (completely empty stat line at Cleveland).

Sunday night’s home date with the Bengals could swing either direction. But there’s upside, at least. Joe Burrow has taken 3+ sacks in six of his 10 games this year, including last Thursday night against the Ravens.

Blake Cashman, LB, Minnesota Vikings

Headshot of Blake Cashman

Cashman returned Sunday from a three-game toe injury to lead the defensive production in Sunday’s surprisingly narrow victory at Jacksonville.

He tallied just 5 total tackles (3 solo), but Minnesota totaled only 39 tackles as a team. Cashman’s numbers included a sack among 2 tackles for loss and 2 QB hits.

Next come strong matchups against the Titans and Bears, amid the fifth-best LB-scoring schedule from Week 11 on.

Tyrice Knight, LB, Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks dumped starting LB Tyrel Dodson coming out of their Week 10 bye. It’d be weird if they did so to make room for Drake Thomas, a second-year former undrafted free agent who has played 36 career defensive snaps.

Knight makes much more sense, however.

The rookie filled in for Jerome Baker across weeks 2-4 this season and tallied 22 total tackes – despite playing no more than 74% of snaps in any of the three games.

He also carried some intrigue as a prospect, with a 65th-percentile speed score and nice college production. Knight finished his UTEP career with a senior season that included:

  • 140 tackles
  • 16 tackles for loss
  • 4.5 sacks
  • 7 passes defensed

He’s worth grabbing now in leagues of at least modest depth.

Jeremy Chinn, S, Washington Commanders

Headshot of Jeremy Chinn

Chinn’s playing time has seen some variation curing his first Washington season. And his production has been mostly forgettable. Not so over the past two weeks, though.

The safety has racked up 13 tackles and a pass defensed in two straight games. He added an INT and a fumble recovery in Sunday’s loss to Pittsburgh, as well as 2 tackles for loss in the Week 9 win over the Giants.

Chinn’s no lock to deliver. But he has played 95% snap shares or higher in three straight games, including 100% each of the past two weeks. That should at least keep him on the field and primarily “in the box” for Thursday night’s matchup with the Eagles.

Philly’s been a weaker matchup for DB scoring but yielded the fourth-most fantasy points per game to LBs (re: “in the box”). Upside matchups with the Cowboys, Titans, and Saints follow.

Saints DBs

The whole group makes sense to varying degrees this week, for a home date with Browns QB Jameis Winston. That case doesn’t need to be made if you’ve witnessed any portion of Winston’s starting career.

CB Alontae Taylor stands as the clearest candidate, with 97% playing time or higher in three straight games amid Paulson Adebo’s season-ending injury and Marshon Lattimore’s trade.

Headshot of Alontae Taylor

Taylor’s averaging 1 pass defensed per game and also mixes in some pass rushes.

Ugo Amadi has set season highs in playing time three straight weeks, working in as the new lead slot CB in the realigned secondary.

Headshot of Ugo Amadi

He racked up 100% snap share, 9 solos, 3 tackles for loss, and a pass defensed in a Week 10 matchup with Atlanta, which has been extremely friendly to slot-CB scoring. Cleveland should be friendly as well.

S Tyrann Mathieu carries boom-bust potential, with a low tackle floor.

Headshot of Tyrann Mathieu

S Will Harris should be a better tackle bet in his second game back from injury but sports less turnover upside than Mathieu.
