The New York Giants selected Nebraska TE Thomas Fidone in Round 7 of the 2025 NFL Draft. A highly-regarded recruit, Fidone was ranked one spot ahead of Brock Bowers in the 2021 TE class. Knee injuries limited him to just one game across his first two seasons at Nebraska. But he totaled 61 catches for 633 yards and four TDs over the last two years in weak passing games. Fidone ranked second on the Huskers in catches and yards in 2023; fourth in 2024. He was the most athletic TE at the Combine, earning a 9.49 Relative Athletic Score. The 6’5, 243-pounder ran a middling 4.70-second 40 yard dash but posted a 94th percentile broad jump and 78th percentile three-cone time. Fidone’s raw production doesn’t jump off the page, but his recruiting profile and athleticism make him worth monitoring.
Fidone was a former five-star recruit who is an incredible athlete.
Injuries derailed most of his college career, making him less productive than expected when he entered college football.
That athleticism seems to be something the Giants' covet in a TE after drafting TE Theo Johnson last seaso.
Fidone will compete to make the roster and shouldn't be a rookie fantasy factor.
Fidone isn't a rookie draft candidate with a crowded TE room on the Giants with Johnson and Daniel Bellinger.
RB TreVeyon Henderson’s highlight reel screams fantasy stardom — but is he built to handle more than a complementary role?
