Former Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart had a stellar NFL Combine with NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah noting his anticipation throwing to the WRs. ESPN's Field Yates noted that Dart is a potential third QB for the first round, putting Dart at 21 to the Pittsburgh Steelers in his latest mock draft.
Field Yates of ESPN when asked about a potential third QB in the first round: "“I think it’s Jaxson Dart from Ole Miss, who broke Eli Manning’s school record for passing yards this past season,”
“He’s got a ton of experience. He began his college career at USC, finished up at Ole Miss, and he had a brilliant game to cap his college career against Duke in the bowl game. Good athlete, he can throw on the run as well. It’s going to be a transition, because the offense he played in at Ole Miss does not look a whole lot like most NFL offenses"
Dart's rushing ability makes him attractive for fantasy managers, especially in Superflex leagues.
If Dart does hit the first round (or even the high second round) he could be a better selection than QB Shedeur Sanders who had negative career rushing yards in college.
As Yates mentioned, the transition to the NFL is a big leap for Dart, but he has aced every part of the offseason so far including the Senior Bowl and NFL Combine.
