On a day where so many RBs exceeded expectations, former Iowa Hawkeye RB Kaleb Johnson just did as expected. He ran a 4.57 40-yard dash at 224 pounds. He also tied for the worst 10-yard split of the day for a RB at 1.62. Despite the average 40-yard dash, Johnson is still expected to be a top-100 NFL Draft selection.
Matt Miller of ESPN: "Really good "Duce Staley Drills" from Dylan Sampson and Kaleb Johnson"
Johnson DID impress in the on-field drill portion of the Combine showcasing solid hands in the receiving drills and excellent footwork in the Duce Staley drill.
Johnson clearly is a talented RB and will succeed based on his vision and contact balance rather than his long speed.
He should still be selected within the top-100 of the NFL Draft still and be a first round rookie pick in 1-QB leagues.
