Packers RB Josh Jacobs got his final carry early in third quarter of Monday night's win over the Saints. He didn't get hurt. Green Bay simply didn't need him beyond that. Jacobs carried 13 times for 69 yards and a TD, adding 4 receptions for 38 yards on 4 targets before he left. Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks added rushing TDs as well.
The early departure made it a relatively disappointing fantasy performance for Jacobs, considering the stellar matchup and game conditions. But he still wound up 12th among RBs in PPR scoring for the week.
Jacobs should find a more competitive atmosphere at Minnesota in Week 17.
He carried just nine times (for 51 yards) and logged 4 receptions (among 6 targets) in the first meeting with Minnesota. Green Bay went pass-heavy in that one (54 attempts) and worked Wilson in a surprising amount (8 carries).
Expect Jacobs to maintain a much stronger share of the Week 17 backfield work.
Good size. Plus speed. Early breakout. Quinshon Judkins looks like an elite fantasy prospect. But could these sneaky issues actually turn him into a bust?
