Giants RB Tyrone Tracy managed a solid fantasy score in Sunday's loss to the Falcons. But he did it almost entirely as a receiver. Tracy caught all four of his targets for 43 yards and the team's lone TD. He managed only 7 carries for 26 yards despite dominating backfield playing time. Tracy played 36 snaps to Devin Singletary's 13 and Eric Gray's 9. He ran pass routes on half of those snaps.
Sunday marked the fourth time in the past five games that Tracy logged 10 carries or fewer, including three games of 9 or fewer. It also marked his fifth straight game with less than 46 yards rushing.
Tracy has at least seen his receiving increase over the same span. He has reached 4 targets in three straight games and four of his past five. Tracy reached that number just once over his first 10 contests.
Sunday also marked the third time in the past five games that the Giants have lost y at least 21 points. That's bound to hurt the carry totals.
Week 17 holds a home date with the Colts, who have allowed 21+ points to eight straight opponents -- and 24+ in six straight contests. Indy also hit Week 16 as the 10th-best scoring matchup for RBs.
The solid matchup should land Tracy in low-RB2 territory of our Week 17 rankings.
