Rams WR Cooper Kupp was blanked by the 49ers on Thursday night. He saw just three targets -- all coming in the first quarter -- and was smothered by CB Deommodore Lenoir on all three. QB Matt Stafford threw for just 160 scoreless yards in a game that was impacted by rain in the first half. But WR Puka Nacua still managed to come away with seven catches for 97 yards. This was only the second time Kupp has gone catch-less in a healthy game, with the first coming back in 2019.
This was a tough matchup for Kupp against a 49ers team that entered as the top defense against slot receivers. (Kupp has run 68% of his routes from the slot this season.)
If you survive this Kupp goose egg, you can confidently keep him in fantasy lineups going forward. Kupp averaged 9.1 targets, 6.4 catches, 73 yards, and 0.7 TDs over his previous seven games, with at least 15 PPR points in six of them
He gets the Jets and Cardinals in Weeks 16 and 17. Those defenses rank eighth and 11th in adjusted fantasy points allowed to WRs; 13th and 21st against slot receivers. They are not easy matchups, but easier than the 49ers.
