Cowboys LB DeMarvion Overshown tore the ACL, MCL, and PCL in his right knee in Monday night's loss to the Bengals, according to ESPN's Todd Archer.
HC Mike McCarthy, on whether we should expect Overshown to miss the 2025 season: "I think that's fair. The time of year. Obviously we're in December. I think like anything, you have the surgery and the rehab is a long process. I think that's very realistic."
We'll see exactly how Dallas plans to fill out its LB corps in Overshown's absence. Rookie Marist Liufau looks like the best bet to rise to No. 2 in playing time at the position.
But Dallas opened the year spreading snaps around. We could see more of that.
The Cowboys' defense looses some big-play upside but has barely been playable as a team defense anyway.
Overshown has now lost a season to a left ACL tear and then torn three ligaments in the other knee. It's quite possible he's never again the same player.
At the least, we should expect him to miss 2025. That'll make it tough to hold Overshown in most IDP leagues.
We'll see about Liufau, but Dallas looks likely to make a significant addition of some sort to the LB corps ahead of next season
