Packers RB Josh Jacobs racked up three TDs in Thursday’s loss to Detroit. He nearly added a receiving score, but the play was wiped off the board by a penalty.
Here's WR Christian Watson, who tallied 4-114 but lost a fumble on Thursday night:
"He's huge. He's been huge for our whole offense," Watson said of Jacobs. "Just speaking for myself, I gotta find a way to be better to complement him more."
This was the fourth time in Jacobs’ career that he tallied three TDs in a game.
Green Bay ran only 45 plays in this one, but they continued to lean run against Detroit's banged-up defense. Despite a nagging calf injury, he handled 18 of 20 team RB carries. No Packers RB drew a target.
Jacobs scored from one, six, and four yards out, while his long run went for 19.
Per Next Gen Stats, Jacobs forced seven missed tackles. He now leads the NFL in that category with 84.
Jacobs will look to score in five straight next week at Seattle. Over the past five weeks, only the Vikings and Lions have allowed fewer PPR points per game. Still, in his current role, Jacobs will remain an RB1.
