Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III dominated RB carries 16-4 in Sunday's win over the Jets. But he ran even with Zach Charbonnet on pass plays. The No. 2 back matched Walker at 12 pass routes and 3 targets. Charbonnet also turned 2 receptions into 13 yards and took his 4 carries for 28 yards and a TD. Walker ran for 49 yards (3.1 per rush) and lost 3 yards on his 2 receptions.
Seattle trailed in this game from the first TD with 3:25 left in the first quarter until Charbonnet scored with 5:31 left in the fourth.
That trailing game script likely contributed to Charbonnet's elevated role. It was his first time beating Walker in routes since the Week 8 loss to Buffalo.
It's not enough to make Charbonnet a fantasy starting option when Walker's healthy going forward, and you shouldn't worry too much about Walker's role.
Seattle gets a fairly neutral schedule for RB scoring the rest of the way. But Walker would certainly benefit from the offense improving in general.
The Seahawks have fallen short of 300 total yards in three straight games and four of their past five.
