Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco rushed 7 times for 44 yards in Friday's close win over Las Vegas. Chiefs RBs combined for only 14 carries against a Raiders defense that allowed just one rush of more than 5 yards.
Here's Pacheco on his return to the lineup, per SI:
"It was challenging," Pacheco said. "You've got days you come in and you don't want to work. You could go as hard as you can and you could get distractions. You've got guys that are healthy running in and out of the facility but you as a player, you've got to focus on what you've got to come in there and do. For me, that was to get better day in and day out and eliminate distractions. I wanted to go out to the hot tub, the cold tub and do those extra things but during the moment, I had to focus in on what I had planned and then, on my own time, do the extra stuff."
Pacheco broke loose for a 34-yard run up the gut in the third quarter. Otherwise, he was bottled up by a surprisingly-strong Raiders run D.
Pacheco caught his only target for 5 yards in his first game back from a fibula fracture.
The 25-year-old should see increased usage in Week 14, especially with the Chiefs enjoying extra rest. Note that Kareem Hunt continued to show no explosiveness on his 9 touches.
Expect Pacheco to rank as an RB2 next week vs. the Chargers.
