Bengals "TE" Mike Gesicki ran the team's third-most routes in Sunday night's loss to the Chargers. His 43 routes trailed only Ja'Marr Chase (55) and Tee Higgins (50), and constituted 76.8% of Joe Burrow's dropbacks. But Gesicki drew just 2 targets and caught nary a one. TEs Tanner Hudson and Drew Sample also garnered 2 targets apiece vs. L.A.
Gesicki has been approximately invisible whenever Higgins has been on the field this year.
He has now averaged just 1.3 receptions in six games with Higgins, compared with 5.2 receptions per game in the five contests Higgins has missed.
At least that gives us a pretty clear guide on when to -- and not to -- play Gesicki.
He's droppable in many fantasy football leagues ahead of the Week 12 bye.
