Browns QB Jameis Winston threw for 395 yards and 2 TDs in Sunday's loss to the Saints. Perhaps just as importantly, he didn't turn the ball over at all. That marked a significiant rebound from a 3-INT outing his last time out that left reporters asking HC Kevin Stefanski if he'd bench Winston.
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
It's bad news for the Browns that Winston needed to throw 46 passes in what wound up a 21-point loss to a lackluster Saints team. But we love it for fantasy.
The greatest risks to Winston's fantasy outlook are (in either order):
- Cleveland wanting another look at QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson as starter.
- Winston proving so sloppy with the ball that he gets yanked.
Sunday proved positive on both fronts, with no turnovers and DTR attempting only one pass.
Winston remains a risk-reward fantasy QB and now gets four straight negative matchups:
- vs. Pittsburgh
- at Denver
- at Pittsburgh
- vs. Kansas City
His presence in the lineup remains good for the fantasy outlooks of Cleveland's pass-catchers. But don't count on Winston outside of 2-QB and superflex formats over that stretch.
