Bears HC Matt Eberflus told reporters Wednesday that S Jaquan Brisker will miss Sunday's game against the Packers. That'll mark five straight games lost to a Week 5 concussion. This is also the third straight season in which Brisker has missed multiple games following a concussion. He sat out two weeks in both 2022 and 2023 before returning to full-time duty in each case. This year's layoff also includes the Week 7 bye, between Brisker's first and second missed games.
Eberflus: "They’re still working through the concussion protocol and working through with the trainers. We’ll see where that goes in terms of week to week.”
It sure seems like we should be talking about Brisker's concussion history at least similarly to the discussion around Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa.
Yet even his coach isn't saying much more than "week to week" ... nearly six weeks after the 25-year-old safety suffered the initial injury.
Guess we'll see where this one goes.
For now, Elijah Hicks will continue to start in Brisker's place against Green Bay.
Trevor Etienne never led a college backfield. But could he be a secret weapon for your dynasty team? He leads this list of rookie sleepers ... that Ollie Gordon failed to make. (Find out why.)
