Titans RB Tony Pollard split touches with Tyjae Spears in a Week 10 loss to the Chargers. Pollard rushed 9 times for 44 yards, adding 4 catches on 4 targets. Spears gathered 47 yards on 7 carries and caught 3 of 4 targets for 4 yards.
Spears had missed the previous three games due to a hamstring injury. But he looked healthy in this one en route to a strong 6.7 yards per carry.
Pollard’s dealt with his own health issue and missed Thursday’s practice with a foot. He didn’t appear hobbled but ended up posting his lowest carry share of the season (56%).
Ultimately, this backfield was held back by a lack of play volume (51, well below the league average). Plus, neither RB saw a goal line carry.
The Titans draw another tough matchup -- Minnesota -- in Week 11, adding downside risk to both backs.
