Cowboys QB Cooper Rush threw for just 45 yards in Sunday's loss to the Eagles before getting yanked in the fourth quarter. He completed 13 of 23 passes, with no TDs or INTs. But Rush also lost a pair of fumbles despite taking just 1 sack. Trey Lance came on for 21 passing yards, 17 rushing yards, 1 INT, and 2 sacks taken.
We'll see what HC Mike McCarthy says heading into Week 11. But I'd bet on the Cowboys sticking with Rush for at least one more game.
Lance already flunked out with the team that drafted him third overall. And Sunday marked his first regular-season appearance since arriving in Dallas in August 2023.
He has remained the third QB -- behind Rush -- through the middle of his second Cowboys season. And Lance didn't show much in the fourth quarter of Sunday's blowout.
Week 11 holds a Houston matchup that hasn't proved punishing to QB scoring on the season. But the Texans rank top 5 in DVOA and are stifling the Lions as of this writing.
