The Lions are listing Edge Za'Darius Smith as questionable for Sunday night's game against the Texans. The team reportedly gave Smith two days off after his trade from Cleveland this week. He was listed as a full practice participant Friday but is understandably still learning the defense.
HC Dan Campbell, before Friday's practice: "We’ll have him out there, get him moving around a little bit and we’re prepared to see what we can do and where we can go with it.”
Smith: "It’s more about just getting the plays in, and knowing the blitzes. They basically want me to be on cue for the blitzes, so hopefully something can work out here in the next 24 hours.”
Even if Smith plays Sunday night against the Texans, I'd bet we'll see a smaller role than Detroit's planning generally.
That means you shouldn't plan to use Smith in IDP lineups this week. But he's a potential option beyond that.
