Jerry Jones revealed during his weekly Tuesday radio spot that the Cowboys will place QB Dak Prescott on IR for his hamstring injury. That means the QB will miss at least the next four games.
Prescott will miss -- at least -- home games vs. Philly, Houston, and the Giants, as well as a Week 12 visit to Washington.
If he's ready, he can return for a Week 14 home date with the Bengals. That would be a positive matchup for a fully healthy Prescott. We'll obviously have to see what we get come that point.
If Prescott can get healthy ahead of the fantasy playoffs, he gets a nice set of matchups. Beyond the Bengals sit a visit to Carolina's terrible defense and an upside home date with the Buccaneers.
I'd bet against the Dallas QB landing inside our top 12 for a Week 17 road trip to Philadelphia.
Whether to hold Prescott through this IR stint will depend heavily on the specifics of your situation.
The whole Dallas offense loses with the downgrade from Prescott to Cooper Rush.
Rush has just six career starts since entering the league in 2017. His 2022 fill-in stint marks the only year in which Rush has started multiple games. He averaged just 191.2 passing yards and 1.0 TD passes across those five starts.
Build an unbeatable team with these eight fantasy football sleepers. A first-time starter with QB1 upside, a rookie RB with top-20 potential, an exciting second-year breakout WR, and more!
