Saints utility man Taysom Hill ran for a 7-yard TD among 5 carries for 19 yards in Sunday's loss to the Panthers. That obviously delivered key fantasy production. But his receiving usage might be more impactful for his value going forward.
Hill set season highs in targets (5), receptions (4), and receiving yards (41) -- ranking second or tying for second on the team in each category.
Chris Olave's second concussion among the past four games helped with the available opportunity. And his likely absence for Week 10 (at least) figures to increase Hill's importance.
Hill's 16 routes among 34 dropbacks meant a season-high 47.1% route rate, according to Pro Football Focus. He ran a season-high 19 routes the week before, but that constituted a 38.8% route share among 49 dropbacks.
Hill also played a season-high 35 snaps Sunday, and his 44.3% snap share fell just short of his season high.
He makes sense as a fringe TE1 over the next two weeks -- ahead of the Week 12 bye -- where Hill qualifies at that position.
