Bucs WR Chris Godwin will have an MRI on his ankle to determine the full extent of his injury before having surgery later this week, NFL Network reports. The expectation is that his season is over. Godwin can be dropped during waiver runs this week.
Godwin is set to hit free agency in March coming off the second major injury of his career, following his 2021 ACL tear. He turns 29 in February.
Godwin was playing some of the best football of his career this season, averaging 7.1 catches, 82 yards, and 0.7 TDs per game. We'd expect him to draw plenty of interest if he hits the open market. Godwin could still have another 2-3 quality fantasy seasons in him. Consider him a hold in dynasty.
