Steelers RB Jaylen Warren was upgraded today and now has no injury designation for Week 6 against the Raiders. Warren has dealt with hamstring and knee injuries during the offseason and season so far. He could see a prominent role in the Steelers' run game with Najee Harris being ineffective so far this year.
Burt Lauten of the Pittsburgh Steelers: "Steelers RB Jaylen Warren (knee) has been upgraded from his questionable status and will have no injury designation status for Sunday’s game at Las Vegas."
Warren will likely see a prominent role in the Steelers run game with Najee Harris being ineffective throughout the season for the team.
With OC Arthur Smith's offense leaning heavily on the zone blocking scheme, Harris has been a poor fit. Warren should excel in the one-cut rushing scheme and help revitalize the Steelers run game.
For this week, Warren will likely be eased back into the action as the back-up to Harris, though a 50/50 split is not out of the question if Warren shows no lag from his knee injury.
Don't be surprised if Warren turns into the starter sooner rather than later, especially with the Steelers bye week coming up in Week 9.
