The Bengals fear CB Dax Hill tore his right ACL in the first quarter of Sunday's loss to the Ravens, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Assuming that's confirmed by testing, it would obviously end Hill's season.
Cincinnati has ranked just 26th so far in pass-defense DVOA even with Hill in the lineup. That means a couple of things:
The Bengals will remain a matchup to target with your passing-game pieces on offense. And the Cincinnati defense will remain one you shouldn't use.
Expect CB DJ Turner to take over Hill's spot. After playing just 11 total snaps through the first three weeks, Turner took the field for 73% of snaps in Week 4 and then 87% against the Ravens.
A 2023 second-round pick out of Michigan, Turner lost the training-camp competition to Hill after some up-and-down play through his rookie season.
He doesn't carry much intrigue on the IDP front. Turner averaged just 3.75 total tackles across his 12 starts in 2023.
