Rams WR Cooper Kupp had an incredible Sunday Night Football performance with 14 catches (on 21 targets) for 110 yards and a TD. He stepped up after WR Puka Nacua was knocked out of the game with a knee injury causing Kupp to be the focal receiver in the offense. He helped the Rams gain a late lead, but it was not enough for the Rams to beat the Lions
It felt like the glory days of Kupp when Matthew Stafford would lock onto him and pepper him with targets. With an astounding 21 targets in the game, Kupp had the PPR volume to put up a ton of fantasy points.
HC Sean McVay was clearly trying to get the ball into the hands of the Rams best playmaker in Kupp. With Nacua sidelined, the Lions keyed in on Kupp and even rolled coverage to his side, but he still found holes in the zone and separation in man to win.
Kupp looked 100% healthy and it showed in his play. Whether Nacua is on the field or not moving forward, the passing game will run through Kupp with his sharp footwork and quickness.
Next week, Kupp will take on the Arizona Cardinals whose defense gave up the game against the Bills late in Week 1.
With Mack Hollins having success against the Cardinals in Week 1, Kupp can likely tear apart the Cardinals secondary in Week 2.
